  • Publication number: 20240189693
Abstract: Apparatuses and methods for golf alignment training include a device, attachable to a golf club, for measuring a golfer's alignment by a plurality of sensors, including a magnetometer. A location-aware device is used to select an intended target line. The plurality of sensors measure the golfer's actual alignment, including the face angle of the golf club at address of the ball, and the actual alignment is compared to the intended target line to provide feedback and suggested improvements.

  • Publication number: 20240108945
Abstract: A golf tracking system including a tag coupled to a golf club. The tag includes a plurality of sensors, each which output a signal based on a detected movement of the golf club, a microcontroller that compares each of the plurality of sensor outputs to stored reference sensor output values, and a transceiver that transmits data corresponding to the sensor outputs to a device remote from the tag based on the comparison performed by the microcontroller. The location-aware device then processes the information received from the tag to determine whether a shot should be registered.

  • Patent number: 11813511
Abstract: A personal golfing assistant system is comprised of software running on a PDA attached directly or remotely to a GPS receiver that enables the user to survey and/or electronically capture geophysical golf data. A handheld device connected to or integrated with a GPS receiver can instead be used. Software allows a golfer to use a handheld PDA/GPS unit during the course of play to mark a ball location automatically and/or determine the distance to golf course targets and/or objects, and to analyze golf related data and generate statistics. The system can send a set of parameters tailored for a specific course to a real time tunable GPS to adjust for optimal performance and can adjust measurements to compensate for environmental condition changes.

  • Publication number: 20230173341
Abstract: The present invention is a Golf Super Tag Multifunction Golf Swing Capture and Analysis device comprised of a printed circuit board mounted in a case attached to the end of the club grip or mounted along the club shaft containing sensors and electronic components. The sensor data associated with the golf club swing is processed by the microcontroller firmware that analyzes the physics of the golf swing to determine the various characteristics of the golf swing such as swing plane, club face orientation, club head speed, point of ball impact, etc. This data can be stored in onboard memory and/or relayed via Bluetooth Low Energy or other communication protocols for storage, further application processing and/or relay to web-based systems. The firmware is comprised of code that runs on the microcontroller to handle the microcontroller startup, wake up, power management, sensor control and sensor data, as well as Bluetooth (or other communication protocols).
