  • Patent number: 11842222
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for bootstrapping an application with metadata specified in a template. The template specifies a stack of resources that will be used to execute an application and also includes a set of metadata for customizing the resources and the application. When the system receives the template, it instantiates a compute node which will execute the application. The compute node may contain at least one initialization script for bootstrapping the application with the metadata contained in the template. This functionality allows users to bootstrap the application running on the compute node with data from within the template that was used to create the stack of resources for executing the application. In this manner, metadata, configuration files, package names and versions can be passed by the application owner to the remote compute node.

  • Patent number: 8949930
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for enabling users to model security resources and user access keys as resources in a template language. The template can be used to create and update a stack of resources that will provide a network-accessible service. The security resources and access keys can be referred to in the template during both stack creation process and the stack update process. The security resources can include users, groups and policies. Additionally, users can refer to access keys in the template as dynamic parameters without any need to refer to the access keys in plaintext. The system securely stores access keys within the system and allows for templates to refer to them once defined. These key references can then be passed within a template to resources that need them as well as passing them on securely to resources like server instances through the use of the user-data field.

  • Patent number: 6042623
Abstract: Wafers from plural non-vacuum multiple wafer carriers are loaded and unloaded in an atmospheric front end of a wafer processing machine and transferred to and from a high vacuum chamber of a transfer module of a wafer processing cluster tool, or back end, through a single two-wafer loadlock. Preferably, with the wafers oriented horizontally throughout, two wafers are sequentially loaded into and simultaneously moved inbound to the high vacuum back end of the system, through one loadlock and sequentially moved into and simultaneously moved outbound through the same loadlock, the loadlock having a pair of water cooled supports for simultaneously actively cooling the two wafers. In both the atmospheric front end and vacuum back end environments, transfer arms load and unload the loadlock, and transfer wafers within the environments when all loadlocks are sealed. Preferably, two wafers are actively cooled in the loadlock.

Abstract: Wafers from plural non-vacuum multiple wafer carriers are loaded and unloaded in an atmospheric front end of a wafer processing machine and transferred to and from the high vacuum chamber of a transfer module of a wafer manufacturing cluster tool through a plurality of single wafer loadlocks. Preferably, with the wafers oriented horizontally throughout, wafers are moved inbound to the high vacuum atmosphere through one loadlock and moved outbound through another loadlock, the outbound loadlock also actively cooling the wafer. In both the atmospheric and vacuum environments, transfer arms load and unload the loadlocks as often as possible when the other loadlock or loadlocks are sealed, and transfer wafers within the environments when all loadlocks are sealed. Preferably, the wafers are actively cooled in the outbound loadlock. Preferably also, wafers are passed through a wafer aligner after being removed from a carrier and before placed in a loadlock.

  • Patent number: 5380682
Abstract: A wafer processing cluster tool, having one or more load-locks, is provided with one or more batch preheating modules that receive wafers only from the cluster tool transport module at the internal vacuum pressure of the machine. The loading, unloading, handling and processing of wafers in the machine can occur while other wafers are being preheated. The preheat module has a vertically moveable rack and is loaded with various sized batches of wafers with no vacant positions between them. Wafer shaped shields may occupy positions adjacent top and bottom wafers to cause them to heat the same as other wafers in the rack. Infrared lamps positioned outside of quartz windows heat wafers in the preheat module. The rack may rotate to improve heating uniformity. Temperature sensors, such as pyrometers, that do not contact the wafers being preheated, measure temperature for control of the heating of the lamps.

  • Patent number: 5313174
Abstract: A four way 2:1 bandwidth RF splitter/combiner is described. When used as a splitter, the splitter/combiner provides equal amplitude output signals while maintaining quadrature phase over the entire bandwidth of the input signal. This splitter/combiner also maintains a one to one VSWR and eliminates back door intermodulation. When used as a combiner, the splitter/combiner losslessly combines four equal amplitude quadrature phase signals.

  • Patent number: 5311158
Abstract: A variety of embodiments of varactor diodes are disclosed ranging from an N.times.N matrix assembly of individually packaged diodes arranged in N rows and columns to a multi-continuous layered varactor. The matrix assembly varactor has N rows of discrete devices electrically coupled in parallel and multiple rows vertically aligned and electrically coupled in series to each other. The overall matrix assembly capacitance equals the individual diode capacitance of such assembly. When used as a tuning component across a tank coil transmission line, the RF voltage across any device in the matrix assembly is equal to the tank voltage divided by N.

  • Patent number: 5285175
Abstract: A tri-phase combiner/splitter system that has similar advantages to presently available binary combiner/splitter systems which uses quadrature couplers. Notably, the combiner input Voltage Standing Wave Ratio ("VSWR") remains at 1:1 for identical mismatch impedance at the output ports. There is also a complete cancellation of back-door intermodulation components for identical output device nonlinearities. An innovative wideband, 0.degree. three way combiner/splitter is the basic building block of the present invention. To achieve equal port impedances, a new wideband transmission line transformer is used. By using 60.degree. or 120.degree. phase equalization networks at the three, 0.degree. output ports, this device is converted to a wideband tri-phase combiner. For moderate bandwidths, a coupled transmission line version is possible using meandering strip lines in the same fashion used in quadrature coupler design.

  • Patent number: 5268658
Abstract: A digital amplitude modulator receives a plurality of phase coherent input signals from a plurality of amplifiers (A1-An) respectively representing the bits of a plural bit digital word and converts them to a single output signal on an output with a first plurality of transformers having transformer ratios which vary substantially in accordance with a power of two corresponding to the significance of the bit represented by the input signal being converted thereby and a second plurality of transformers having primaries connected to the first plurality of transformers, respectively, and secondaries all connected in series together to an output terminal and transformer ratios which vary in substantial accordance with the same powers of two that the transformer ratio of the first plurality of transformers to which they are connected vary.

  • Patent number: 5180999
Abstract: A filter system which may be configured either as a stopband (notch) or passband filter having controlled gain and low ripple throughout its stopband or passband. The system includes a filter network which is operative for splitting an input signal spectrum into a pair of complimentary spectrum components and a coupler for proportionately combining these spectrum components in accordance with a prescribed gain factor. The filter network may either comprise a pair of complimentary band reject and band pass filters connected to a common input terminal or a diplexer including identical filters coupled between a splitter and a combiner.

  • Patent number: 5155724
Abstract: A broadband diplexer for use in dividing input signals in accordance with frequency and in constructing multiplexers including multiple diplexers. The diplexer includes a pair of 0-degree couplers one of which is configured as a signal splitter while the other is configured as a signal combiner. A pair of filters having identical frequency selection characteristics but opposite impedance and admittance characteristics are connected in between the splitter and the output port of the combiner. In operation, input signals are received at the input port to the splitter and output signals are provided at the isolation port of the splitter and the output port of the combiner. The coupler and filters act in combination to divide the input signals in accordance with frequency so that the output signals have complementary spectra. The use of 0-degree couplers allows for very broadband performance by the diplexer.
