  • Patent number: 9130602
Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing power to e.g., a chargeable device via a radio frequency link. In one aspect, a method of providing power to a chargeable device via radio frequency link comprises generating a substantially un-modulated signal. The method further comprises radiating a substantially un-modulated radio frequency (RF) signal to the chargeable device via a transmit antenna based on the substantially un-modulated signal. The method further comprises powering or charging the chargeable device with power delivered by the substantially un-modulated RF signal.

  • Patent number: 7363233
Abstract: A method for routing an object in a transportation network is provided. The method includes obtaining at a first point a first address and a first functional property code associated with an object to be routed. The method also includes storing at a data base a second functional property code, a second address, and a third address associated with a second point. The method further includes sending the first address and the first functional property code from the first point to the data base and determining at the data base if the first address is compatible with the second address. The method additional includes determining at the data base if the first functional property code is compatible with the second functional property code if the first address is compatible with the associated second address and sending the third address to the first point if the first functional property code is compatible with the second functional property code.

  • Patent number: 6914964
Abstract: A method for establishing a communication session is provided that includes receiving a query at a database that includes a selected one or both of a phone number associated with a first end user and a phone number that was input by the first end user to establish a communication session with a second end user. A situation associated with the communication session may be identified based on a plurality of functional purpose (FP) codes stored in the database and associated with a selected one or more of the first and second end users. A telecommunications relay service (TRS) or gateway switch routing number, a network routing number for a third point, and an initial address message (IAM) may be communicated. A communication assistant or translator element may be invoked, in response to the IAM, such that the communication session is facilitated between the first and second end users.

  • Patent number: 6076121
Abstract: The present invention provides a system and method of addressing and translating addresses in a network, such as a telecommunications, cellular or transportation network. The system and method in a telephone network assign a directory number to each user, and functional property code(s) to each device a user employs. The same directory number is then used to reach the user, whereby the system will automatically use the functional property code of each device to reach the user's voice line, cellular line, fax line, data line or other telephone network device. The system and method apply to transportation networks such as airlines, busses, rail, and shipping, to pipeline networks such as the oil industry, delivery networks such as postal services, and to other networks in which symbolic addresses are used to designate a source and a destination of traffic.

  • Patent number: 5557656
Abstract: Aircraft communications are established on a cellular system by having the transmission to aircraft directed above ground level so as not to interfere with ground cellular systems and having the transmissions from the aircraft at extreme low power levels so as not to interfere with transmissions from ground vehicles. The location of mobile stations either aircraft or ground vehicles for one embodiment is determined by Loran reception or other radio navigation system in the mobile station and transmitted to a mobile switching center to be used in transferring control from cell to cell by use of the determined location of the mobile station. For another embodiment the antennae for aircraft (both base station and mobile) are horizontally oriented while ground vehicle antennae (both base station and mobile) are vertical as in present commercial practice.
