  • Patent number: 4280952
Abstract: Disclosed are plastic compositions comprising (i) polystyrene; (ii) a bis-phenoxy compound of the formula ##STR1## wherein alkylene is a straight chain carbon group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms; (iii) a poly (brominated phenylene oxide); and (iv) an enhancing agent. Also described is a flame retardant additive composition for polystyrene plastic compositions comprising (i) said bis-phenoxy compound, (ii) said poly (brominated phenylene oxide), and (iii) said enhancing agent.

  • Patent number: 3965214
Abstract: Acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene polymer compositions are rendered flame retardant by the incorporation therein of an effective amount of decabromobiphenyl. The flame retardant composition has the added advantage of being stable against discoloration caused by light and/or ultraviolet radiation.
