  • Patent number: 6928666
Abstract: A ventilation system is self contained on a toilet. The ventilation system has an enlarged vent pipe located in the water tank that communicates with the upper rim ducts of the toilet bowl. The vent pipe extends out of the water tank and reenters the toilet via the drain channel at a location downstream of the water trap. The vent pipe has a float valve in the water tank to prevent the tank from overflowing. A fan in the vent pipe exhausts the air from the toilet bowl; a flapper valve on the vent pipe end acts as a one-way valve preventing the flush from entering the exhaust duct.

  • Patent number: 6351860
Abstract: The chair lift is formed by a hollow outer stationary cylinder secured to the bathtub and an inner cylinder having a closed upper end secured to the bathtub located inside and spaced from the outer cylinder. A hollow movable cylinder having a closed upper end is slidably located between the inner and outer cylinders forming a chamber between the inner and moveable cylinders. A water control system including a pump is provided for injecting water into the chamber for moving the movable cylinder to an upper position and for removing water from the chamber to allow the movable cylinder to move to a lower position. The outer cylinder has a vertical slot formed through its wall. A chair has a connection that extends through the slot and is connected to the movable cylinder for moving the chair to upper and lower positions with the movable cylinder.

  • Patent number: 5991933
Abstract: A toilet odor removal system which uses an overflow tube in the water tank and a float valve to open and close an opening in the overflow tube for water overflow purposes and for odor removal purposes respectively. The overflow tube extends through a side wall of the water tank to an exhaust system.

  • Patent number: 5875496
Abstract: The ventilation system comprises a manifold having an open bottom with two members adapted to be coupled to either of the two lower ends of the manifold for plugging one of the ends and for allowing the other lower end to be coupled to an exhaust conduit. Also provided is an intake member adapted to fit under the seat of the toilet with a rear end in communication with the interior of the manifold and with the front end located over the bowl of the toilet. In the embodiment disclosed, the intake member has an open bottom with flexible flared side walls to allow the height of the intake member to be varied to fit under the seats of different toilets.

  • Patent number: 5839131
Abstract: A fluid operated chair lift is provided for use in a bathtub for allowing a person to enter and leave a bathtub. In the preferred embodiment the apparatus uses water from the water lines of the house or building which is injected into the apparatus for lifting a chair support member thereof and hence the chair and which is released from the apparatus to lower the chair support member and the chair. The apparatus may be coupled in the cavity of the bathtub at different angles and the chair may be coupled to the support member at different angles. In addition, the chair may be rotated relative to the support member to allow a person to be readily seated and unseated onto and from the chair.

  • Patent number: 5522093
Abstract: The toilet ventilation system has an intake member located directly adjacent the toilet bowl of a toilet. The intake member is coupled to a manifold supported by the toilet which permits odors from the toilet to be transferred from the intake member and manifold to a ventilation pipe located adjacent the toilet. A fan is located at a remote end of the ventilation pipe for drawing odors through the intake member, the manifold, and the ventilation pipe, and expelling the odors into a ventilation area. The intake member is removably coupled to the manifold through a manifold inlet and may be removed from the manifold. The ventilation pipe is removably coupled to the manifold by way of a manifold outlet. The manifold may be rotated about the ventilation pipe or moved out of the way when the intake member has been removed from the manifold inlet, for cleaning purposes.

  • Patent number: 5129112
Abstract: A support is provided which is attachable to the side walls of the bathtub. An actuator is provided which includes an elongated tubular member and an inner member adapted to be moved to inner and outer positions relative to the tubular member. Structure is provided for coupling the actuator to the support. A D.C. powered reversible, electric motor is provided for moving the inner member of the actuator to its inner and outer position. A chair is coupled to the outer end of the inner member and a coupling apparatus is provided for pivotally and slidably coupling the chair to the support for allowing the chair to be moved to an upper and lower positions above the bottom of the bathtub and sideways when in the upper position.
