  • Publication number: 20070050166
Abstract: Method and system to configure a common set of electronic components using software in order to simulate different electronic, mechanical and/or electro-mechanical instruments or instrument functions. For each instrument function or traditional mode of operation to be simulated, software models are created which when directed to the electronic components, cause the electronic components to respond to input in the same manner that the actual, traditional physical instrument would respond to satisfy the same test requirement input. The software models are preferably stored in a model repository which is searchable to enable a user to select the instrument function or traditional mode of operation to be simulated with the corresponding model being provided to the electronic components. Once the model, i.e., a function for each synthetic element, is downloaded and the electronic components configured according to the model functions, testing of the assemblies or other UUTs can begin.

  • Patent number: 6533165
Abstract: Tablets and other relatively fragile consumer products can be transported in a carton with little or no compromise to their integrity by providing bottom flaps of the carton with slits for cushioning the carton. Preferably, at least two adjacent flaps include the slits. Instead of slits, perforated lines or non-linear lines can be used. However, in a preferred embodiment, the carton is a corrugated carton and the slits run parallel to the lines of corrugation. More preferably, the corrugation includes troughs and the slits are imposed in the fiberboard parallel to and opposite the troughs of the corrugations.

  • Patent number: 6523724
Abstract: The present inventors have discovered a new vent which can be used in a venting closure and particularly in venting closures for large heavy duty liquid detergent and other liquid laundry product containers. In one embodiment, the vent comprises a wall, a vent opening in the wall, and one or more spacers on the surface of a face of the wall. Most especially the spacers are protuberances, especially rounded protuberances. A liner is adhered to a portion of the surface of the face and spaced from the vent opening by the spacers. The liner is made of a material which permits air to pass through the vent hole, but preferably, the liner material does not permit liquids to pass through the vent hole. In an especially preferred embodiment, the liner is comprised of a tetrafluoroethylene polymer. In a most preferred embodiment the application is also directed to a venting closure.

  • Publication number: 20020162766
Abstract: A new way of shipping cartons and other packages so as to minimize the cost and the resource used. In one embodiment, the invention comprises the use of two or more films shrink wrapped about the packages which are juxtaposed to form a unit. At least one of the films is opaque and at least one of the films is clear. The opaque film is sufficiently resistant to the transmission of light such that UPC bar codes present on the individual packages cannot be read through the film by bar code reading machines. The shrink wrap in place about the unit may include one or more gripping openings.
