  • Patent number: 5322186
Abstract: A retrofit folded towel dispensing module for use with a wall mounted, folded towel dispenser designed to dispense a folded towel having a predetermined footprint, the folded towel dispensing module enabling the dispenser to dispense folded towels having a different footprint. The module has a frame including a top member, a pair of extensible side members attached to the top member, and a dispensing platform having a dispensing orifice therethrough. The dispensing platform is pivotally attached to the extensible side members. The frame supports a stack of folded towels within the wall mounted, folded towel dispenser. The extensible side members allow the frame to be vertically adjustable within the wall mounted, folded towel dispenser to accommodate differing stack heights of a plurality of different wall mounted, folded towel dispensers.

  • Patent number: 5302167
Abstract: Disclosed is transfer apparatus for use in an embossing dispenser capable of sequentially dispensing primary and secondary rolls of a sheet material. The transfer apparatus includes pivotally mounted transfer linkage which supports a primary roll contacting surface. Bar means attached to the transfer linkage has a comb projecting therefrom with a wing member extending from each end of the bar member. The transfer linkage is biased for rotational movement to maintain the primary roll contacting surface in contact with the primary roll as the primary roll is depleted. This biasing simultaneously rotates the bar means toward the embossing rollers.

  • Patent number: 4756485
Abstract: A multiple roll towel dispenser. The dispenser cabinet has a pair of feed rollers forming a feed roll nip, means for driving one of the feed rollers to dispense web from the cabinet, means in the cabinet for supporting a first roll of web material with its web extended between the feed roll nip, and means for supporting a second roll of web material with its web extended adjacent to the feed roll nip. The dispenser also includes means, contacting the edge of the first roll, having a first position for sensing the diameter of the first roll; means, connected to the sensing means, for biasing the sensing means against the edge of the first roll; biased transfer means for introducing the extended web of the second roll into the feed roll nip; and stop means, connected to the sensing means, the stop means being located to resist motion of the transfer means at a ready position when the edge of the first roll resists movement of the sensing means.

  • Patent number: 4425012
Abstract: Apparatus for mounting a roll towel dispenser (30) on the door (12) of a recessed paper towel cabinet (10). The apparatus includes a bracket assembly (40) that has a hooked end portion (54) adapted to fit over the top edge of the door (12) of the recessed cabinet (10). The bracket assembly (40) is secured by means of nuts (56) and bolts (50) to the rear wall of the roll towel dispenser (30). The bracket assembly (40) is also adhered to the front surface of the door (12) of the recessed cabinet (10) in order to stabilize, or prevent relative motion between the assembly comprising the bracket (40) and roll towel dispenser (30) and the door (12). In one aspect of the invention, the bracket (40) is formed so that when it is assembled to the door (12) of the recessed towel cabinet (10), a portion (42) of the bracket plate (40) is spaced apart from the surface of the door (2) of the recessed cabinet (10) so that it clears the projecting portion of a lock assembly (34).

  • Patent number: 4192442
Abstract: A sheet material dispensing apparatus wherein the sheet passes through a nip formed by a drive roller and a pressure roller. A lever is mounted for rotation about a first point and a gear segment is mounted for rotation about a second point. When the lever is rotated, a point or surface on the lever slidingly contacts a point or surface on the gear segment causing the gear segment to rotate through a greater angle than the lever. The teeth of the gear segment are operably engaged with gear means which causes rotation of the drive roller. In another aspect of the invention, the gear means for rotating the drive roller includes a floating gear mounted in a slot that is aligned generally parallel to the teeth of the gear segment and which causes rotation of the drive roller during one direction of travel of the gear segment and is disengaged from the drive roller during the other direction of travel of the lever.
