  • Patent number: 11229991
Abstract: An apparatus for use with various shearing machines for safely and efficiently positioning material to be worked. Magnets which control the material are embedded in a body made of non-magnetic material. Magnets are positioned in the forward end of the apparatus for holding the material being worked while other magnets are positioned in the body of the apparatus for adhering the apparatus to the machine table. A handle is provided for sliding the material into the proper position.

  • Publication number: 20210016340
Abstract: A safety device with efficiency and utility value, for manipulating small pieces of metal plate to be punched or otherwise worked by an industrial power press equipped with fixtures for punching machines or other purposes. The stock is held magnetically to a non-magnetic plate in which magnets are embedded. The design and concept may be used for both repeated random punches as well as repeated punch patterns. The magnets surround a relatively small hole through which the punch is made. The plate bridges the distance between the contact points of the industrial punch's stripper so that the punch tool may be easily and safely extracted. The plate also extends outward, toward the operator, to provide a safe hand-hold distance from all points of operation and pinch points. Also provided are punch explosion shields for additional protection. The device also adds mass to an otherwise tenuous and fragile work piece for the purposes of accurate placement and positional anchoring.

  • Patent number: 9962777
Abstract: An apparatus for improving the accuracy of machines which shear plate materials in general and sheet metals in particular. The apparatus comprises an indicator that is magnetically mounted to the shearing blade and extends downward toward the work table of the machine to give an indication of where the blade will pass through the metal.

  • Publication number: 20030232682
Abstract: The Automatic Variable Ratio Differential is a multi-purpose device which represents a substantial improvement over current vehicle differential technology. Its primary use is as an improved vehicle differential, allowing the driving wheels to rotate at different speeds when the vehicle is turning. The improvement over the standard differential becomes evident when one of the driving wheels is slipping due to mud or ice; then, the AVRD uses a true mechanical ratio to channel the available torque to the driving wheel with traction, thereby preventing the vehicle from becoming stuck. This device is much more efficient, durable, and powerful than the conventional friction driven limited-slip differentials currently available. In many configurations, the device can also improve the maneuverability and turning-radius of a vehicle by allowing the inside wheel in a turn to rotate in reverse while the outside wheel rotates forward.

  • Patent number: 5350072
Abstract: An integral wire shelf and hanger rod having a plurality of support brackets for interconnecting the rod with metal shelf. Each support bracket has a U-shaped section and spaced upper and lower arms welded respectively to the shelf and the hanger rod. The configuration of the support brackets permits a garment hanger to slide across the rod through a path uninterrupted by the support brackets.

  • Patent number: 4487031
Abstract: A method and apparatus for effecting capacity control of a compressor are described. A compressor having multiple capacity steps is utilized. A control valve being connected to both the compressor discharge pressure and the compressor suction pressure as well as heating and cooling pressure sensors is utilized. The control valve acts to connect appropriate pressure to the pressure sensors such that a variation in pressure level beyond a predetermined range effects a pressure sensor change indicating a need to change the capacity level of the compressor. Upon the capacity level of the compressor being changed the control valve is cycled to apply an opposite pressure level to the pressure sensor to reset the pressure sensor such that the pressure sensor may again detect a change in the pressure level to indicate a further need for a capacity change in the compressor.

  • Patent number: 4167965
Abstract: A heat transfer system for effecting heating and cooling at maximum system operating cost efficiency in both modes of operation. In a preferred embodiment, a solar collector is utilized to transfer radiant heat from the sun to a heat storage medium, such as water, which is circulated through a water coil of an indoor heat exchanger. A conventional heat pump has an indoor refrigerant coil supported in the same heat exchanger in thermal contact with the water coil. During heating or cooling, air is passed through the heat exchanger and the heat pump is used to supplement the circulating water when the water is insufficient for heating or cooling purposes. The heat exchanger is formed by interpositioning the water carrying coil and the refrigerant carrying coil in thermal contact with each other through the use of common coil fins for the separate fluid carrying conduits.
