  • Patent number: 5974842
Abstract: A locking slide latch comprises components that are easily assembled without the need for separate fasteners or adhesives. A presently preferred latch comprises a housing, a pawl received within the housing and an actuating member associated with and slidable relative to the housing for displacing the pawl from an extended position to a retracted position. These components are assembled together without the use of separate fasteners or adhesives, thereby simplifying assembly and allowing for interchangeability of parts to meet varying latch requirements. The latches are preferably manufactured from corrosion resistant materials such as plastics, composites and corrosion resistant metals, and are highly suitable for use in automotive, recreational vehicle and marine applications.

  • Patent number: 5938248
Abstract: A multi-point latching system is adapted for mounting on a panel and securing the panel to a frame. The system includes a central latch, remote latches and connecting rods. The central latch includes a housing and a handle assembly pivotably mounted in the housing for rotation about an axis parallel to the panel for opening and closing the central latch. The handle assembly extends through the housing and includes a handle and a pivot arm. The pivot arm extends from the back of the housing. The central latch also includes an actuator pivotably mounted for rotation normal to the panel; and a link connecting the handle assembly to one of the connecting rods, which is also connected to the actuator, such that the actuator is rotated by rotating the handle assembly. The remote latches are engaged by rotation of the actuator plate through the connecting rods.

  • Patent number: 5915441
Abstract: A hinge is provided having an interior pivot point and an exterior pivot point for mounting a door to a frame such that the door is capable of opening a full one hundred eighty degrees. The hinge has a lower bracket having mounted on the frame, a central pivot link rotationally attached to the lower bracket, an exterior pivot pin extending between the lower bracket and the central pivot link providing for rotational movement of the pivot link with respect to the lower bracket, an upper bracket mounted on a door, and an interior pivot pin, parallel to the exterior pivot pin, extending between the upper bracket and the central pivot link providing for rotational movement of the door with respect to the central pivot link.

  • Patent number: 5897147
Abstract: A locking slide latch comprises components that are easily assembled without the need for separate fasteners or adhesives. A preferred latch comprises a gripable base member having a spring member mounted thereon, a locking member rotatably mounted on the spring member and a rotatable lock plug mounted in the spring member and contacting the locking member.

  • Patent number: 5603535
Abstract: A slam latch for securing a slidable window or door to a corresponding frame consists of a housing including a base plate, a catch and a keeper wherein the catch is spring biased downward against the housing so as to become operatively engaged with the keeper attached to the frame when the door or window is moved to a closed position causing the catch and keeper to become in juxtaposition to one another.

  • Patent number: 5413392
Abstract: A pawl assembly is adapted for being mounted in an aperture formed in a door panel for releasably retaining the door against a corresponding frame. The pawl assembly includes as portions thereof a housing which is received within the door panel aperture. The housing is formed having its distal end being conical in shape which allows a mounting nut to be mounted onto the pawl assembly when received in the door panel aperture. A drive member is included which is received within an axial bore formed in the housing and is adapted for rotational movement by an operator. A pawl is secured to the drive member in only one orientation of the pawl in relation to the drive member. The drive member rotation is limited by a protruding member which extends from the housing and into the drive member. The drive member is also included with a flange which is sized at least to completely cover the top of housing which provides a seal for restricting the passage of water, dust and other matter.

  • Patent number: 5375894
Abstract: A slide fastener for securing cabinet doors or enclosures for communications transmission and switching equipment is comprised of at least one locking slide bar operatively connected to a spring biased pivoting lever assembly which locks and unlocks the cabinet door by simultaneously engaging/disengaging the locking slide bar with a slide bar keeper secured to the cabinet door frame. The lever assembly may be secured in the locked or closed position by a cam operated catch that is releasable upon the application of force against a button that is integral with the housing of the slide fastener. An electrical grounding pad may be optionally provided to prevent damage or injury from static discharge.

  • Patent number: 5201557
Abstract: A slide fastener secures a door of an electrical cabinet to the cabinet frame. The slide fastener releaseably retains the door against the frame when the door and the frame are latched together. The slide fastener includes a door assembly secured to the door and slide keepers attached to the frame. The door assembly includes a lever assembly and a slide assembly. The lever assembly is rotatable between an open position and a closed position and engages and slides the slide assembly in response to rotation of the lever assembly. The slide assembly engages the slide keepers as the lever assembly is rotated.
