  • Patent number: 5816446
Abstract: An apparatus for diluting and dispensing a liquid concentrate with a liquid diluent to form a use solution wherein the use solution has a higher viscosity than either the concentrate or the diluent is provided. The apparatus includes an aspirator, a liquid diluent conducting path, a liquid concentrate conducting path, and a liquid conducting outlet path. The aspirator has a first inlet port, a second inlet port, and an outlet port. The first inlet port is connected to the liquid diluent conducting path for receiving a stream of the liquid diluent and the second inlet port is connected to the liquid concentrate conducting path for receiving a stream of the liquid concentrate at atmospheric pressure. The liquid conducting outlet is connected to the outlet port for dispensing the use solution from the apparatus. The geometry of the aspirator nozzle and the fluid passageways in the dispenser are adapted to a high viscosity dilute product.

  • Patent number: 5340501
Abstract: A solid, cast, highly chelated, alkaline detergent composition which includes (i) a potassium salt of an aminocarboxylic acid sequestrant, such as ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA), (ii) optionally a sodium salt of the aminocarboxylic acid sequestrant, (iii) a source of alkalinity, such as sodium and/or potassium hydroxide, and (iv) a solidifying agent. The composition contains at least one of the sodium salt of the aminocarboxylic acid sequestrant and/or the sodium form of the alkaline source.

  • Patent number: 5186912
Abstract: A dispenser (10) and method for washing dishes and utensils in a dishwashing machine are disclosed. The dispenser (10) is comprised of a container (11) and lid (12), the dispenser containing a solid detergent composition (13). A slot (23) in a side wall (17) and baffle (26) allow for controlled drainage of the detergent solution. The lid (12) has a plurality of openings (18) through which water from the dishwashing machine enters, so as to dissolve the solid detergent (13). The dispenser (10) is positioned within the washing chamber (20) of a dishwashing machine (19).
