  • Publication number: 20200167569
Abstract: An augmented-reality system classifies a subject observed in video data obtained from a first area. A goal of a user of an augmented reality device is determined based on video data obtained from a second area. A correlation between the goal of the user and the classification of the subject is determined. An augmented reality display is generated to include a visual indicia of the subject, the visual indicia generated to represent the correlation between the goal and the classification.

  • Publication number: 20200168337
Abstract: A diagnostic model, adapted to a condition of a patient, is maintained. A monitoring device obtains visual information of a patient. The visual information is converted to a format suitable as input to the diagnostic model. Output of the diagnostic model is used to generate a recommendation for at least one of diagnosis or treatment of the patient. A response to the diagnosis or treatment recommendation is generated.

  • Patent number: 10634294
Abstract: A light source is realized in a wall portion and a base portion forming a flexible structure, the wall portion having a plurality of inward facing LEDs, a bottom edge of the wall portion being adjacent to an edge of the wide portion. The resulting well is subsequently filled with a material to form an optical cavity, the height of the resultant optical cavity being matching a top edge of the wall portion. The top surface of the optical cavity is spin coated with a thin layer of quantum dots which serve to shift a wavelength of light emitted from the LEDs. Finally, a protective layer is applied to fix and protect the thin layer of quantum dots. Thus, a light source is realized which can reliably provide light at a specific wavelength defined by the interaction between the LEDs and quantum dots.

  • Patent number: 10628982
Abstract: A visual characteristic on a physical surface in the physical space is determined from an image of a physical space, with the physical surface including a first area inside the visual characteristic and a second area outside of the visual characteristic. A first region of virtual space that corresponds to the first area and a second region of virtual space that corresponds to the second area is determined based at least in part on the visual characteristic. Information that includes a position and orientation of a digital object relative to the first region and the second region in the virtual space is determined based at least in part on the visual characteristic. The digital object is rendered at a position and orientation in the virtual space in accordance with the information.

  • Publication number: 20200078680
Abstract: Systems and techniques for enhancing the physical games with augmented reality is described. A system identifies a characteristic of a physical object that is located on a physical surface. The system obtains, based on the characteristic, information indicative of a rule set for the game and a state of the game based on the characteristic. A game engine is initialized based on the rule set and game state. The game engine generates a subsequent state for the game. The system renders, based on the subsequent state, an augmented reality display that incorporates the physical surface and physical object.

  • Publication number: 20200042898
Abstract: A system obtains preference information by observing interaction, on behalf of a user, with a first service. A machine learning model is trained, based on the preference information. The system stores configuration data for the machine learning model. When a second service is invoked, the system provides the configuration data based at least in part on determining that the first and second services share a common classification. The second service reconstitutes the machine learning model and adjusts the interaction based at least in part on predictions made using the reconstituted machine learning model.

  • Publication number: 20200026484
Abstract: A first augmented reality device shares, with a second augmented reality device, a visualization of an object viewed by the respective devices in an augmented reality scene. The first augmented reality device receives property information, according to which the second augmented reality device is displaying the visualization. The first augmented reality device displays the visualization according to the property information, adjusted to account for differences in perspective between the first and second augmented reality devices.

  • Publication number: 20200026413
Abstract: An augmented reality device enables selection and interaction with multiple objects viewed in an augmented reality scene. A cursor is positioned proximate to a first object in response to a first gesture. A selected state of the first object is determined in response to a second gesture. A visual indication of the selected state of the first object is displayed by the augmented reality device. A second position for the cursor, proximate to a second object, is determined. A visual indication of the first object's selected state remains displayed after the cursor is moved to be proximate to the second object.

  • Publication number: 20200027427
Abstract: An augmented reality system obtains sensor data depicting a first object in a scene. The identity of the first object is determined. The system estimates a size of the first object based on the determined identity. Based on the estimated size, the system estimates a scale of other objects depicted in the obtained sensor data. • Publication number: 20190378334
Abstract: An augmented reality system identifies a region of a scene observed by an augmented reality device. The region is associated with an application executing on the device. The system receives sensor data from the device and generates an event based on the sensor data. The system determines that the event is relevant to the application, and sends the event to the augmented reality device for processing by the application. The application generates a user interface element by specifying coordinates relative to the identified region. The coordinates are translated to a location in the scene.

  • Publication number: 20190379742
Abstract: Information sharing is initiated between devices based on identification, by one or more of the devices, of a context in which the information is to be shared. Services to provide the shared information are identified based on a mutually agreed level of sensitivity for the information sharing. Information is shared between the devices via the services. Use of the services to share information is stopped in response to a change in context identified by one or more of the devices.

  • Publication number: 20190337067
Abstract: A device and method of tapping an engine component to orient a spark plug includes measuring a tap pitch, measuring a first distance between a tap end surface and a full tap tooth center at a first rotational location, calculating a phantom first tap tooth based on the pitch and first distance, determining a tap rotational offset from the first location to a location where the end surface intersects the phantom first tooth, calculating a tap rotational starting orientation that is the first location minus the tap rotational offset minus a spark plug offset, rotating a tool head to the rotational starting orientation, positioning the tap so the end surface is a pitch incremental distance away from the engine component, synchronizing a rotating speed of the tool head and a feed rate to the tap thread pitch, and operating the tool to cut or form threads in the engine component.

  • Publication number: 20190231274
Abstract: In various embodiments, a first classification assigned to a periodic component of an electrical waveform that represents electrical activity in a patient's heart may be identified (302). A corresponding periodic component of a hemodynamic waveform that represents hemodynamic activity in the patient's cardiovascular system may be analyzed (306, 318, 328). The corresponding periodic component may be causally related to the periodic component of the electrical waveform. Based on the analysis, the previously-assigned classification may be assigned (312, 324) to the corresponding periodic component of the hemodynamic waveform in response to a determination, based on the analyzing, that the previously-assigned classification also applies to the corresponding periodic component.
