  • Patent number: 10721999
Abstract: A device and method to facilitate the opening and closing and closing of a ski boot. The devices includes a buckle attachment section, a ski pole cooperation section and a securing member. The buckle attachment section has a cavity which is dimensioned to receive a free end of the buckle therein to prevent unwanted movement of the buckle attachment section relative to the buckle. The ski pole cooperation section has a ski pole receiving opening. The ski pole receiving opening extends through the ski pole cooperation section and is dimensioned to receive an end of a ski pole therein. The securing member secures the device to the buckle of the ski boot. The device allows the buckles of the ski boot to be latched and unlatched with minimal twisting of the skier's body.

  • Patent number: 9654064
Abstract: An audio amplifier apparatus includes an audio amplifier which receives a single audio signal and produces a plus phase audio signal and a minus phase audio signal, both dependent upon the single audio signal. The plus phase audio signal and minus phase audio signal are received by first and second inputs of a speaker, respectively. A current sensing circuit senses a level of current received by the first or second inputs of the speaker and outputs a current sensing signal dependent upon the sensed level of current. An amplifying circuit receives and amplifies the current sensing signal. A mixer circuit receives the amplified current sensing signal and an audio drive signal and produces the single audio signal dependent upon the amplified current sensing signal and the audio drive signal. The single audio signal is produced at a node in-between two resistors.

  • Publication number: 20050252454
Abstract: A lifting assembly can lift a substrate from a substrate support and transport the substrate. The lift assembly has a hoop sized to fit about a periphery of the substrate support, and a pair of arcuate fins mounted on the hoop, each arcuate fin comprising a pair of opposing ends having ledges that extend radially inward, each ledge having a raised protrusion to lift a substrate so that the substrate contacts substantially only the raised protrusion, thereby minimizing contact with the ledge, when the pair of fins is used to lift the substrate off the substrate support. The lifting assembly and other process chamber components can have a diamond-like coating having interlinked networks of (i) carbon and hydrogen, and (ii) silicon and oxygen. The diamond-like coating has a contact surface having a coefficient of friction of less than about 0.3, a hardness of at least about 8 GPa, and a metal concentration level of less than about 5×1012 atoms/cm2 of metal.

  • Patent number: 6471464
Abstract: A device for orienting and/or centering a wafer is provided. The device employs a CCD camera and backlighting source which enhances the CCD camera's ability to detect wafer position. The backlighting source may be positioned along the side of the wafer opposite the CCD camera, or may be positioned adjacent the CCD camera. When positioned adjacent the CCD camera one or more shields are employed to prevent direct or reflected light from impacting the top surface of the wafer being detected by the CCD camera. Accordingly the only light detected by the CCD camera is light which passes the wafer and reflects from a surface therebeyond, back to the CCD camera, resulting in effective backlighting of the wafer. The image of the wafer may be further sharpened by roughening the surface from which light reflects back to CCD camera.

  • Publication number: 20020058150
Abstract: A semiconductor wafer having copper bondpads (17) that are free of voids (13) and a method for coating the copper bondpads (17) with solderable or wirebondable metals such that the copper bondpads (17) are free of the voids (13). The void free metal coatings are achieved using a dual activation process. In a first activation step (27), the copper bondpads (17) are activated by placing them in a palladium bath. In a second activation step (28), the bondpads are placed in a nickel—boron bath. After the dual activation, the copper bondpads (17) are coated with a layer of nickel—phosphorous or palladium. The nickel—phosphorous or palladium layer may be coated with a layer of gold for subsequent formation of solder balls or wirebonds thereon.

  • Patent number: 5543759
Abstract: An audio amplification circuit includes a ganged pair of logarithmic potentiometers, each potentiometer of the pair having an input terminal, an output terminal, and a wiper terminal. The input terminals of each potentiometer are adapted for connection to an audio input signal from an audio device such as a microphone. A preamplifier stage having an input is connected to the wiper terminals of both logarithmic potentiometers. An amplification stage has a matched pair of operational amplifiers with each operational amplifier having an input connected to the output of the preamplifier stage. Each operational amplifier has a feedback loop which includes the resistance of at least one of the logarithmic potentiometers between the output terminal and the wiper terminal of said logarithmic potentiometer. The outputs of the matched pair of operational amplifiers constitute the outputs of the amplification stage. The outputs may be daisy-chained together, and a floating output stage is also provided.

  • Patent number: 4470089
Abstract: A cleaning cassette for a tape unit includes a supply reel and a take-up reel, with a cleaning ribbon mounted therebetween. The cleaning ribbon extends around various support surfaces in the cassette, and passes two cleaning stations. The first cleaning station utilizes a spring biased plunger to force the cleaning ribbon against a pinch roller being cleaned. A traction sleeve is positioned between the capstan and the pinch roller to enhance the frictional engagement between the capstan and the pinch roller. At the second cleaning station, the cleaning ribbon passes between the capstan and the pinch roller. Once again, a traction sleeve is provided between the capstan and the pinch roller, and in this case the traction sleeve is offset with respect to the cleaning ribbon. Funnel-shaped openings and distribution channels are provided in the said shell to introduce a liquid such as a cleaning solvent onto the cleaning ribbon near the cleaning stations.

  • Patent number: 4378582
Abstract: A demagnetizing device for a cassette tape player includes a cassette shell which defines a generally oval-shaped guide track extending around the interior of the shell. A magnet assembly is provided with shafts which fit within the guide track such that the magnet assembly is free to rotate within the guide track and to translate along the length of the guide track. The magnet assembly is rotated by a drive belt which in turn is driven by two hubs rotatably mounted in the cassette shell. An automatic shutoff lever is disclosed which acts automatically to shutoff a tape player equipped with automatic shutoff features when the magnet assembly reaches one of two predetermined positions on the guide track. By properly positioning the guide track, the single magnet assembly can be used to demagnetize multiple components of a tape player distributed around the cassette shell. For example, the single magnet assembly can be used to demagnetize two capstans and a tape head in a single operation.
