Publication number: 20230056233Abstract: Provided are methods for sensor attack simulation systems, which can include a processor performing operations comprising receiving a dataset representative of data received from a plurality of sensors at an autonomous vehicle sensor system that measure environmental conditions related to an environment of an autonomous vehicle. The system operations also perform a simulated attack on the dataset. The simulated attack includes at least one of modifying the dataset to imitate a cyberattack and modifying the dataset to imitate a cyber-physical attack in which the cyber-physical attack misrepresents the environmental condition related to the environment of the autonomous vehicle to be measured by the plurality of sensors. The system operations also provide a second dataset based on the simulated attack on the dataset for testing planned movements of the autonomous vehicle.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 20, 2021Publication date: February 23, 2023Inventors: Benjamin Andrew Cyr, Michael Alan Maass, Richard Fuchs

Publication number: 20070243799Abstract: A sharpening apparatus having at least one guide slot, a drive pulley drivingly coupled to a frame and at least one idler pulley rotatably coupled to a support member. The support member is pivotably coupled to the frame. The apparatus includes an endless abrading belt rotatable in a path over the drive pulley and the at least one idler pulley and a biasing member coupled to the frame for biasing the support member toward an engaged position. Pivotal movement of the support member adjusts tension in the belt. A tool is traversed into the guide slot for sharpening a cutting edge thereof. The belt and support member respond to application and release of a force applied to the belt by the cutting edge to decrease and increase, respectively, belt speed to preclude overheating of the cutting edge and damage to the belt and cutting edge.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 13, 2007Publication date: October 18, 2007Inventor: Richard Fuchs

Patent number: 6544112Abstract: A belt tracking mechanism for a belt using machine having a frame, a drive pulley, an idler pulley and a belt trained over the pulleys includes a support member for supporting the idler pulley for rotation about an axis fixed relative to the support member. A mounting stud attached to the support member parallel to the idler pulley axis and threadably engaged with an adjustment knob connects the support member to the frame, the stud being loosely received in an opening in the frame and the knob loosely engaging the frame around the opening on a side of the frame facing away from the support member. A spring biases the support member in a belt tightening direction about the axis of the mounting stud, and the forces imposed on the support member by the belt and spring and mounting stud hold a bend line of the support member, which extends transversly of the support member against the frame.Type: GrantFiled: January 17, 2002Date of Patent: April 8, 2003Inventor: Richard Fuchs

Patent number: 4972622Abstract: An alarm for indicating when a fish strikes bait at the end of a line associated with a fishing rod. The alarm includes a plastic housing defining a receptacle with a rim and opening through which the fishing rod is and a separate compartment where a sound generating unit is stored. A movable receptacle part is integrally hinged to the housing and in a rest position defines a part of the rim against which the rod is rested. The receptacle part is deflected outwardly to a strike position when the fish takes bait, but is otherwise restored to the rest position by the resilience of the plastic forming the hinge. The sound generating unit is mounted on a plastic carrier which has a pair of prominent terminals connected to a speaker drive circuit. A pair of conductive clip elements within the compartment serve both to retain the carrier in a releasable snap fit and to electrically contact the circuit through the carrier terminals.Type: GrantFiled: July 6, 1989Date of Patent: November 27, 1990Inventor: Richard Fuchs
