  • Patent number: 4249616
Abstract: A multiple section fold-up agricultural implement is provided with a folding support (61) for the outboard section (13). When the outboard section (13) is pivoted from its aligned position with the adjacent implement section (12), as shown in FIG. 2, to its folded position as shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, a long support arm (62) swings from a low silhouette position of FIG. 2 to an extended bracing position wherein the cradle (76) on the end of the support arm (62) abuts the frame member (77) of the outboard section (13) sufficiently far from the folding axis (26) to adequately support outboard section (13), particularly in its inverted position, shown in FIG. 4, wherein excessive forces would otherwise be imposed on the folding mechanism (45) during travel over rough terrain.

  • Patent number: 4222218
Abstract: A single row corn harvesting unit of a normally multiple unit corn head adapted to be mounted at the forward end of a crop harvesting combine and comprising a pair of "snapping rolls" or stalk rolls extending forwardly in cantilever fashion in contiguous relation to each other from a gear subassembly, the snapping rolls cooperating with each other in the corn harvesting operation. The rearward end of each snapping roll has a driven bevel gear mounted thereon, the two driven bevel gears comprising part of the gear subassembly. A drive shaft is suitably mounted for rotation and a double bevel gear which also forms part of the gear subassembly is mounted on the drive shaft. The double bevel gear has opposed gear faces each respectively adapted to drivingly engage a corresponding driven bevel gear on one of said respective snapping rolls.

  • Patent number: 4062410
Abstract: A plow bottom is pivotally connected to the stub beam on a substantially vertical axis and yieldable biasing devices are provided which permit the moldboard to pivot about the axis as plowing speed is increased. Both mechanical and fluid biasing devices are disclosed together with an additional embodiment wherein a hydraulic actuator under the control of the operator is used to pivotally adjust the plow bottom.

  • Patent number: 3949889
Abstract: A front end loader attachment utilizing front and rear supports connected to the front and intermediate parts of a tractor to which a loader frame is detachably connected. The rear support is reinforced by a longitudinally extending truss structure connected to the drawbar mounting point beneath the rear of the tractor. A grill guard is pivotable from an upright position to a downwardly extending, inverted position in which it is capable of supporting the loader and loader frame when removed from the tractor. The loader frame has longitudinally extending braces which cooperatively engage a pair of coupling parts on the front support whereby the tractor and attachment are guidingly coupled as the tractor is driven forwardly into the loader frame as it rests on the inverted grill guard.
