    Abstract: An exemplary apparatus for providing secure communications includes a processor; memory in electronic communication with the processor; an output in electronic communication with the processor; and instructions stored in memory and executable by the processor to cause the apparatus to store encryption protocols and at least one encryption hopping protocol; perform nested encryption of at least some of the data by selecting a number of layers of encryption to apply to data to be transmitted; selecting at least one encryption hopping protocol; encrypting data associated with one layer of encryption with one of the encryption protocols according to the selected encryption hopping protocol, and repeating the encrypting data instructions for each layer of encryption; and then transmit data from one device to at least one other device utilizing the selected encryption hopping protocol.
