    Abstract: A system, apparatus, method, algorithm and/or device (collectively, “system”) for non-contact or contactless ultrasound viscoelastic spectroscopy measures the viscoelastic properties of soft matter through exerting modulated ultrasound pressure waves, so called stress signals and measuring the material deformation, so called strain imaging, over a wide range of frequencies, and may be applied to various fields including but not limited to material science, polymer designing, tissue engineering, cancer drug development and/or biological tissue assessment for disease diagnosis and prognosis. By measuring the elastic and viscous moduli, the phase difference between them, and Poisson's ratio over a wide range of frequencies, this allows for non-destructive tests on soft matter such as biological tissue, by ultrasound probes.

In one exemplary aspect, the damping device includes a damping disc operatively coupled with a shaft, e.g., of a turbine engine or shaft system. The damping disc is at least partially received within a chamber defined by a housing. The chamber of the housing is configured to receive a damping fluid. When the shaft is rotated about its axis of rotation, the damping disc is movable within the chamber to move the damping fluid such that the damping fluid absorbs bending vibration emitted by the shaft. The damping fluid moved by the damping disc dampens bending vibration emitted by the shaft.

Alignment data or other measurements are made at stages during the performance of the process to obtain object data representing positional deviation or other parameters measured at points spatially distributed across each unit. This object data is used to obtain diagnostic information by performing a multivariate analysis to decompose a set of vectors representing the units in the multidimensional space into one or more component vectors. Diagnostic information about the industrial process is extracted using the component vectors. The performance of the industrial process for subsequent product units can be controlled based on the extracted diagnostic information.

    Abstract: An optical profiling system characterizes distortion of a head-mounted display (HMD) under test. The optical profiling system includes a camera assembly and a controller. The controller provides presenting instructions that cause the HMD under test to present test patterns and also provides imaging instructions that cause the camera assembly to capture images of the test patterns presented by the HMD under test. The camera assembly includes one or more characterization cameras. A characterization camera is configured to mimic movement of a human eye and is positioned in an eye box region of the HMD under test. Using the images captured by the camera assembly, the controller measures distortion of the HMD under test. The controller may generate a report charactering the HMD under test based on the measured distortion.

The device includes: an antenna; a receiver in communication with the antenna to passively receive wireless signals; and a processor in communication with the receiver and programmed to determine whether a drone is present based on a pattern in the wireless signals emitted from the drone that is correlated with a physical movement of the drone. Another aspect of the invention provides a method for passively detecting the presence of a drone. The method includes: receiving a wireless signal at a device comprising an antenna, a receiver and a processor; and analyzing the wireless signal to determine whether the wireless signal includes a pattern in the signal that is indicative of a physical movement of a drone.

An orientation of the external focus camera corresponds to the gaze direction. The external focus camera captures image data of a portion of a local area surrounding the HMD at the orientation.
