  • Publication number: 20220240735
Abstract: A system and method for a body positioning system for use with a toilet, whereby the body positioning system has an adjustable stool designed to align the user's colon in the squatting position and an improved toilet seat. The body positioning system results in the user being placed in a squatting position that may create an angle in the rectal canal that leads to less strain and less effort to empty the bowels, as compared to sitting. The body positioning system helps individuals reduce straining and decreasing pressure in the veins.

  • Patent number: 9865066
Abstract: An imaging system includes an x-ray or gamma ray source that emits an x-ray or gamma ray beam, a tunnel having a plurality of detectors, and a translatable platform. The detectors each receive a portion of the beam. The translatable platform supports cargo or a transported container and moves through the tunnel so that the cargo or transported container crosses the portions of the beam received by the detectors. The translatable platform may rotate and move through the tunnel at multiple angles. The imaging system may also include a computer and a graphical interface. The computer may receive information collected by the detectors and may reconstruct a three-dimensional image of the cargo or transported container. The graphical interface may display the three-dimensional image or information derived from the three-dimensional image. According to other embodiments, a system for creating a three-dimensional image may receive data from a wide vertical beam angle and generate and output a three-dimensional model.

  • Publication number: 20090286237
Abstract: The invention relates to kits and methods for aiding the diagnosis of Barrett's oesophagus or Barrett's associated dysplasia. Preferred is a method comprising assaying cells from the surface of a subject's oesophagus for a non-squamous cellular marker, wherein detection of such a marker indicates increased likelihood of the presence of Barrett's or Barrett's associated dysplasia, preferably wherein said sample of cells is not directed to a particular site within the oesophagus. The invention also encompasses a method comprising sampling the cellular surface of the oesophagus of said subject. The invention also relates to a kit comprising a swallowable device comprising abrasive material capable of collecting cells from the surface of the oesophagus, together with printed instructions for its use in detection of Barrett's oesophagus or Barrett's associated dysplasia. Preferably said device comprises a capsule sponge.

  • Patent number: 5940979
Abstract: A marking template includes a flat body having a bottom edge and two slots perpendicular to the bottom edge. The slots guide movements of a fitting between extremes defined by the ends of the slots. The fitting includes a flat bottom edge and a triangular edge portion dividing the flat bottom edge into two spaced portions. The triangular edge portion defines a right angle and is designed to receive the corner of a door or drawer face to allow marking of holes from the perspective of the corner of the door or drawer face. The flat bottom edge allows placement of the inventive marking template along one of the side edges of a door or drawer face. In one embodiment of the present invention, a lower portion of the marking template includes a plurality of spaced holes along with various indicia marking the location of each hole as well as other locations on the bottom edge of the body.

  • Patent number: 4027808
Abstract: A receptacle transporting vehicle adapted to carry an open top receptacle, such as a slag pot, includes a support frame adapted to retain and support the receptacle thereon and a base frame having the support pivotally mounted thereon for movement between a first position for carrying the receptacle and a second position for discharging contents of the receptacle. The base frame is mounted on a carrier frame for movement longitudinally of the carrier frame and for raising and lowering the base frame and the support frame thereon between a raised carrying position and a lower receptacle receiving position.
