  • Publication number: 20160076743
Abstract: A light emitting diode (LED) light fixture may include a heat sink, at least one LED for outputting light in a Lambertian optical pattern, and a first optical structure configured to internally reflect light received from the at least one LED. The first optical structure may disperse the received light through the first optical structure to give the appearance that the first optical structure is uniformly outputting light and output the received light in a non-Lambertian optical pattern.

  • Publication number: 20140092596
Abstract: A light source is provided including a heat sink and a printed circuit board (PCB) with a driver and lamps disposed in the central cavity of the heat sink. Each lamp is a semi-spherical solid state lamp, and multiple optical structures in operable registration with lamps. The PCB may further have two heat conducting strips proximate opposing edges of the PCB. The optical structures emit substantially shadowless, substantially homogeneous, and substantially monochromatic light. The optical structure includes an optical element for each lamp that substantially collimates the lamp's light and an optical element receiving a portion of the substantially collimated beam and provides multiple optical images of the collimated beam with a focal point that is practically infinite.

  • Patent number: 6116883
Abstract: Process and apparatus for spinning polymer filaments permits the obtaining of skin-core filament structure by feeding a polymer composition to a spinnerette at a flow rate sufficient to obtain a spinning speed of about 10 to 200 meters per minute through the spinnerette; heating the polymer composition at a location at or adjacent to the spinnerette so as to heat the polymer composition to a sufficient temperature to obtain a skin-core filament structure upon quenching in an oxidative atmosphere; extruding the heated polymer composition through the spinnerette at a spinning speed of about 10 to 200 meters per minute to form molten filaments; and quenching the molten filaments in an oxidative atmosphere so as to effect oxidative chain scission degradation of at least a surface of the molten filaments to obtain filaments having a skin-core structure.
