  • Patent number: 6278603
Abstract: A capacitor includes a capacitor body containing capacitive conductive plates. The capacitor body has a first end and a second opposing end, such as the opposite ends of a cylindrical body. A conductive shell is disposed around the capacitor body. The conductive shell has a first end conductively connected to a first one of the conductive plates at the first end of the capacitor body. The conductive shell also has flexible conductive members disposed at a second end adjacent to the second end of the capacitor body. The flexible conductive members extend away from the capacitor body so as to be brought into conductive contact with a conductive surface against which the capacitor is to be mounted in use, such as an upper layer of a multi-layer bus. One capacitor mounting arrangement uses the above capacitor with a multi-layer DC bus structure. In another mounting arrangement, a resilient conductive gasket is disposed between the hard edge of a capacitor shell and a surface of a bus structure.

  • Patent number: 4927709
Abstract: An improved release system for heat transferable laminates wherein a transferable substrate which contains a design layer is transferred from a carrier web onto an article such as a plastic bottle or container upon application of heat and pressure. The carrier web includes a nonwax polyethylene layer. The improved release system includes a polyethylene layer portion of the carrier web in contact with and adhered to a nonwax transfer layer portion of the transferable substrate. The transferable substrate including the ink design layer transfers to the article upon application of heat to the carrier while the article contacts the laminate. The transferred substrate with design layers on the article is clear and exhibits improved scuff and abrasion resistance.

  • Patent number: 4548857
Abstract: A heat transferable laminate wherein an ink design image is transferred from a carrier support to a receiving article, typically a plastic bottle or container, by application of heat to the carrier. The heat transferable laminate is composed of a carrier support, release coating, an ink design layer, and improved adhesive coating thereon. The improved adhesive coating is prepared from a mix containing an adhesive component and a film-forming component blended in a miscible solvent. The solvent evaporates upon drying the coating. The adhesive component contains a blend of vinylacetate/ethylene copolymer and a styrene-based resin. The adhesive coating is equally suitable as an adhesive on heat transferable laminates for transfer to a wide variety of plastic articles including polyolefins, polystyrene, and polyvinylchloride. The improved adhesive coating obviates a long standing prior art need to pretreat polyolefin receiving articles as by preflaming prior to applying the heat transferable laminate thereto.
