  • Patent number: 8671623
Abstract: A door of a vehicle having a door inner panel, a door latch assembly mounted to the inner panel adjacent to a fish mouth opening, with the latch assembly having a lock lever; and a door trim panel mounted on the inner panel including a lock hole on a surface of the trim panel. A manual lock assembly has a mounting bracket, a button cap, a main shaft and a cam. The mounting bracket is mounted to the door trim panel. The button cap telescopically slides in the bracket and has an end extending through the lock hole. The main shaft slides in the bracket, engages with the button cap and extends into contact with the cam. The cam engages the lock lever to cause locking of the latch assembly when the button cap is pushed.

  • Patent number: 8632116
Abstract: A door includes an exterior-facing surface, an inner structure, and a latch mechanism. The door also includes a key-cylinder attached to and accessible from the exterior-facing surface, and adapted to selectively lock and unlock the latch mechanism, and a pawl adapted to be rotated by the key-cylinder to unlock the latch mechanism. Furthermore, the door includes a feature arranged on the inner structure and aligned with the key-cylinder, and a component connected to the key-cylinder, aligned with and extending into the feature without contacting the inner structure. The component is configured to not impede the rotation of the pawl when the component is aligned with the feature. Additionally, the component is configured to restrict angular movement of the key-cylinder with respect to the door, when the key-cylinder is forcibly manipulated thereby causing the component to contact the inner structure.

  • Publication number: 20110304165
Abstract: A door rod and clip assembly for use with a door inner panel of a vehicle door comprising a lock rod and a rod clip. The rod has a first portion attached to a latch assembly and a second portion including a finger pull. The clip is formed of an elastomeric material and includes a retention member that secures the rod clip to the door inner panel, a base portion mounted adjacent to the door inner panel, a pair of support arms extending from the base and defining a receiving slot, and flexible ribs extending from the support arms to define a flexibility slot aligned with the receiving slot. The ribs include corresponding rod retention cutouts that retain the lock rod in a predetermined orientation, whereby the predetermined orientation of the lock rod positions the lock rod for assembly of an interior door trim panel.
