Abstract: In one implementation, a system for detecting counterfeit accessories that are consumable, disposable, or otherwise user replaceable is disclosed. The system includes a host controller, a processor, and a computer-readable storage medium that includes instructions. Upon execution by the processor, the instructions cause the system to perform operations. The operations include obtaining an identifier of an accessory, a current value of usage data for the accessory, and a usage digest of the current value from a storage device associated with the accessory. An expected usage digest is generated based on the current value, the identifier, and a host secret. The expected usage digest is compared with the usage digest and the current value with a threshold usage value. The accessory is activated with the host controller responsive to the expected usage digest being identical to the usage digest and the current value satisfying the threshold usage value.

Abstract: A medical ultrasound system. A base unit is included having system electronics, a user interface and ultrasound control electronics. An ultrasound therapy head is in electronic communication with the base unit. The therapy head includes a replaceable, sealed transducer cartridge with a coupling fluid therein. A cooling system is provided for cooling the coupling fluid. A plurality of guide indicators are positioned around the therapy head to align with crossed lines on a patient so as to properly align the therapy head prior to use. The therapy head can provide variable treatments to an area while the therapy head is in contact with a patient.

Various gray intensities are mapped based on an image made of various shades of gray so that a viewer perceives a depth of gray levels beyond those available in gray scale from the color display. Pseudo shades of gray are displayed between the levels of true gray that typically are displayed in order to provide a smoother transition between the levels of true gray that are displayed.
