  • Publication number: 20240144177
Abstract: A system, method, process, and mechanism for fulfilling multi-vendor orders within a drive-through complex with a vertical transport system that delivers the multi-vendor orders to pick-up stations located below the floors with the vendors. The system receives an order from a user device of a user, wherein the order includes at least two sub-orders. The sub-orders are processed based at least on the preparation times. The sub-orders are tracked and an available drive-through lane with an available pick-up station is determined for the order including the sub-orders. Notifications may be sent to a user or third party user for order pick-up. When the order is complete, it is consolidated and the order is transferred to the available pick-up station.

  • Publication number: 20130071609
Abstract: A cushioning structure is adapted to support a ioad and to reduce stresses on the load as the result of externally applied impact forces. The cushioning structure comprises an impact energy absorbing layer adapted to be placed between the load and the applied impact energy. The cushioning structure is configured such that the impact energy absorbing layer comprises a plurality of cells of a pliable material, and wherein at least some of said cells are in fluid communication with adjacent cells to provide a valved fluid transfer between said cells, and further wherein the means for effecting valved transfer between cells comprises a venturi valve.

  • Patent number: 6938290
Abstract: Impact energy forces to the spine are reduced through the use of multiple overlying pliable impact energy absorbing layers. Each layer comprises a plurality of cells that are in fluid communication which provides for a valved transfer of fluid between the cells. Additionally, each layer has a different durometer.

  • Patent number: 6859430
Abstract: A system and method for protection of virtual connections at the data link layer. The method provides for protection switching in a ring network. The method comprises detecting an error in one of a first and second routes (“the errored route”). Error cells are generated for each virtual connection affected by the detected error. Error cells are transmitted downstream on the errored route. First switch fabric receives the error cells at a downstream network element associated with the errored route. Change in state of the errored route is communicated to a second switch fabric of the downstream network element associated with the other of the first and second routes (the “other route”). When the state of the errored route is worse than the state of the other route, automatically configuring the second switch fabric to establish the other route to be a working route for the virtual connection.

  • Patent number: 6373058
Abstract: A method of camouflaging an object emitting infrared radiation by absorbing radiation or by altering its emissive pattern reduces its viewability by an infrared detector. An infrared radiation absorbing and/or altering layer containing microcapsules (10) is positioned proximate the infrared radiation source. The radiation is absorbed by means of a phase change material or plastic crystals. Concentrations and/or phase change materials are varied to enhance camouflage.

  • Patent number: 6302785
Abstract: An improved foundation vent with increased net free area is provided. The foundation vent has a frame that surrounds and defines an opening and a grill supported by the frame and spanning the opening. The grill has an inside face disposed on the inside of a crawlspace when the vent is mounted in a foundation wall and an outside face disposed on the outside of the crawlspace. A mesh screen is mounted to the frame and spans the opening adjacent the inside face of the grill. The grill is provided with projecting standoffs that support the screen at a predetermined distance from the inside face of the grill to form a plenum between the screen and the grill. A raised peripheral rim is provided on the frame and supports the peripheral portion of the screen. The spacing of the screen from the inside face of the grill and the plenum formed thereby unblocks the portions of the screen that otherwise would be blocked by the members of the grill and thus increases the net free area of the foundation vent.

  • Patent number: 5648915
Abstract: A system for assessing damage to a simulated human skin includes a mask formed of an opaque material simulating human skin and having an outer surface in a shape simulating a human body part, such as a face, and a form formed of a rigid transparent material and having an outer surface in a shape of the mask for releasably retaining the mask. A light source is positioned behind the form for transmitting light through any laceration in the mask and a camera views the outer surface of the mask and generates an output signal representing an image of at least a portion the outer surface of the mask including any lacerations. A housing encloses the form, the light source and the camera to prevent light exterior to the housing from being viewed by the camera. A computer is responsive to the camera output signal for detecting and measuring a laceration in the mask, and for assigning an injury criteria to the laceration.
