  • Publication number: 20230338883
Abstract: Air cleaner assemblies, components, and features are described. The features can be used to provide that the air cleaner assembly cannot be fully closed, even if a cartridge is nested therein, and appears to be sealed, unless that cartridge is a proper one for the system of concern. The effect is to prevent an inappropriate cartridge, that does not properly seal, from being inadvertently installed in the assembly.

  • Patent number: 11673086
Abstract: An air cleaner assembly with a restriction indicator (14) includes a housing (12) having an exterior surface around an interior volume. The housing includes a bore (42) extending through a portion of the exterior surface of the housing surrounded by a bore wall (38) protruding from the portion of the exterior surface. A receptacle wall of the housing is disposed around the bore wall and is radially spaced from the bore wall to form a channel (44) between the bore wall and the receptacle wall. A restriction indicator (14) measures a restriction in the interior volume and displays an indication of the restriction. The restriction indicator includes a stem (46) that is at least partially insertable into the bore that engages an inner surface of the bore wall. One or more tabs (52) of the restriction indicator are at least partially insertable in the channel and removably couple to the receptacle wall.

  • Patent number: 11378045
Abstract: An air cleaner assembly can contain an air filter element to filter contaminant material out of an air stream. In some examples, the air cleaner assembly includes a housing with an integrated noise suppression chamber for supplying air to a downstream compressor. The housing forms a cavity into which an air filter element is inserted. Contaminated air enters the housing and passes through the air filter. Filtered air can discharge from the housing through a first opening supplying air to a combustion engine and a second opening supplying air to a compressor. Air supplied to the compressor passes from the interior of the housing containing the filter element and through the integrated noise suppression chamber before being discharged. The acoustic energy released by the filtered air stream exiting the air cleaner assembly may be reduced by passing through the noise suppression chamber.

  • Patent number: 7338481
Abstract: A slitting tool for severing a tubular body includes a body portion, extending along a first axis, joined to a nose portion extending along a second axis, the second axis extending at an angle between approximately 5 degrees and approximately 90 degrees with respect to the first axis. The nose portion includes means for severing the tubular body while the body portion includes means for gripping by a hand of a user such that a wrist of the hand is in a neutral position when the means for severing is directed toward the tubular body.

  • Publication number: 20040055763
Abstract: A sprinkler system formed by an injection molding process is provided, as well as a device to install, remove and/or maintain the sprinkler system. The sprinkler system includes a sprinkler having a body portion defining a substantially hollow central portion for allowing water to pass therethrough. The hollow central portion extends from a distal end of the body portion to a proximate end of the body portion. The sprinkler system also includes a housing connected to the sprinkler. The housing includes at least one outer wall and a cover portion transverse with the at least one outer wall which defines an interior space. The sprinkler can be at least partially located within the interior space. Also disclosed is a device for maintaining a sprinkler system.

  • Patent number: 6584655
Abstract: A retention mechanism has a base and a snap ring that are mounted to two components. The snap ring has a hole for attaching a first component. A conical element with a rounded knob protrudes from the snap ring. The base is cylindrical and has a cap with a rounded face and a conical opening that tapers to a cylindrical hole. Both the knob and the base are slit for greater compliance. After the base and snap ring are mounted to their respective components, the snap ring may be removably connected to the base by inserting its knob into the conical opening in the base. The complementary shapes of the snap ring and base allow for significant axial and angular misalignment. The slits allow the snap ring and base to elastically deform. The snap ring and base are disengaged by pulling the snap ring away from the base.
