    Abstract: A glass panel is maintained in spaced relation to an existing window mounted in a fenestration by securing the panel to an abutment mounted on opposed sidwalls and top wall of the fenestration. The glass panel is coated to reduce passage of solar energy and/or radiant heat. Outside noises are dampened by providing (1) a resilient gasket between the abutment and the panel and (2) a resilient glazing foot between the bottom side of the panel and fenestration ledge.

    Abstract: A tool for installing a pane to an existing glazing to provide an insulating, sealed airspace therebetween includes a plate having a pin on one surface to secure the tool to a frame of the existing glazing. A shaft slidably mounted on the other side of the plate urges a blade against the marginal edges of the pane to flow adhesive between the pane and existing glazing to form a hermetic seal.
