  • Publication number: 20040157959
Abstract: Homogenous, aqueous, energy curable printing ink compositions containing metallic colorants.
    Type: Application
    Filed: December 5, 2003
    Publication date: August 12, 2004

  • Patent number: 5628832
Abstract: Adhesive is removed from polyester film which is initially formed into a flake followed by a series of removal and separating steps. In a preferred mode a clarified liquid which results from stripping solution is recycled for further use in adhesive removal.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 24, 1995
Date of Patent: May 13, 1997
Assignee: E. I. Du Pont de Nemours and Company
Inventors: William E. Graham, Richard R. M. Jones
  • Patent number: 5601971
Abstract: An improved method of hardening a hydrophilic colloid is detailed. The hardening results in a stronger matrix and less water pickup. These and other advantages are obtained by hardening with a combination of at least one hardener chosen from Formula I either alone or in combination with at least one hardener chosen from Formula II: ##STR1## The substituents are defined.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 8, 1995
Date of Patent: February 11, 1997
    Assignee: Sterling Diagnsotic Imaging, Inc.
Inventors: Ludovic Fodor, Richard R. M. Jones, Reinhold R uger, Timothy D. Weatherill, Rolf T. Weberg
  • Patent number: 5459029
Abstract: An improved imidazolium hardener is described. These novel hardners are specifically advantageous for hardening, or crosslinking, a hydrophilic colloid in a photographic element. The advance in the art is realized in A hardening agent chosen from the set consisting of: ##STR1## wherein: Y.sup.1 represents an alkyl of 6-24 carbons, aryl of 6-24 carbons, aralkyl of 7 to 25 carbons, the atoms chosen from C, N, O, and S necessary to form a 5- or 6-membered ring, or --L.sup.1 CR.sup.13 CH.sub.2 ;L.sup.1 is a linking group;R.sup.1 is hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 24 carbons, aryl of 6 to 24 carbons, aralkyl of 7 to 25 carbons or halogen;R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 independently represent alkyl of 1-24 carbons, aryl of 6-24 carbons, aralkyl of 7 to 25 carbons or R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 independently may represent, or be taken together to represent the atoms chosen from C, N, O and S necessary to form a 5- or 6-membered ring;R.sup.4 and R.sup.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 9, 1994
Date of Patent: October 17, 1995
Assignee: E. I. Du Pont de Nemours and Company

  • Patent number: 5274159
Abstract: The present invention provides liquid, destructible fluorinated nonionic surfactants that are water-soluble or dispersible, that are useful as stabilizers for emulsions, and that on curing as a layer on a substrate can provide the substrate with an oil- and water-repellent coating that is free of surfactant, the destructible surfactant comprising a fluorocarbylalkoxysilane having at least one polyfluorinated aliphatic group that is both hydrophobic and oleophobic and at least one, preferably two, polyoxyalkylene or other hydrophilic groups which can be cleaved from the hydrophobe by hydrolysis. More particularly, a fluorocarbylalkoxysilane comprises at least one polyfluorinated aliphatic group and at least one polyoxyalkylene group or other hydrophilic group, said fluorocarbylalkoxysilane being destructible by hydrolysis.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 18, 1993
Date of Patent: December 28, 1993
Assignee: Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company
Inventors: Mark J. Pellerite, Richard R. M. Jones
