  • Publication number: 20160037469
Abstract: A mobile device includes a memory, a wireless communication module, and a programmable processor operatively coupled together. The wireless communication module is configured to communicate within an ad hoc network with other mobile devices by wireless broadcasting. The programmable processor is instructed by computer executable code to: initiate an ad hoc network by self-identifying as a host device; receive requests to join the ad hoc network from participating mobile devices; assign a unique identifier to each of the host device and the participating mobile devices, the unique identifiers identifying the host device and the participating mobile devices as network participants; distribute to the participating mobile devices a list of the network participants, the list including the assigned unique identifiers; confirm receipt of the participant list by each of the participating mobile devices; and designate to the participating mobile devices a data exchange protocol for the ad hoc network.

  • Publication number: 20110219422
Abstract: A social network application system stores profile information of one or more types of objects, such as users, places, events, things, organizations and other types of objects. The system maintains current information for the various types of objects. The current information is updated periodically. The system generates a dataset for generating density reports for one or more types of objects based on search criteria. The dataset includes current information for one or more types of objects. The dataset is transmitted to a user device. The user device displays a graphical representation of density of objects in a geographical area.

  • Publication number: 20100255177
Abstract: A natural blue flavorant and/or solution that is stable at pH 3.0 up to 7.0 is produced by extracting plant materials with organic solvents and or water with the addition of aluminum and or stannous salts. The solvents are removed thus allowing the flavorant to provide a blue hue when incorporated into products within the 3.0 to 7.0 pH range. The natural blue flavorant can be used in combination with natural yellow flavorants to produce natural green flavorants of various shades.

  • Publication number: 20050168464
Abstract: A method for converting a subdivision surface, such as a Catmull-Clark subdivision surface, into a cubic Bezier surface defined by sixteen control points. The method includes (a) converting a subdivision face to Bezier control points using a conversion matrix using fifteen points and a dummy value for an unavailable sixteenth point; and (b) replacing one of the Bezier control points which corresponds to an extraordinary point on the subdivision face with the extraordinary point's limit point.

  • Patent number: 5141253
Abstract: This display advertisement qualifies for second-class postal rates because it is all one piece of paper when bound into a publication, when mailed, and when received by a recipient of the publication. Yet it is capable of operation by the recipient to display two or more different images. One area of the sheet forms a slidable-panel portion for motion, eventually, within (or behind) other portions; this slidable-panel portion is folded over to lie within (or behind) the other portions, and connected to the other portions by a perforated tab. The tab initially restrains the slidable-panel portion against actually sliding. The recipient breaks the tab to free the slidable-panel portion, making it actually slidable; and then moves the tab to slide the slidable panel. Preferably the other portions of the sheet are folded and glued to form a flat tube that is tipped (or otherwise bound) into the publication. Parts of images--including photos, lettering, etc.

  • Patent number: 5043751
Abstract: The camera body is of sheet material. When in a usage condition it has four intersecting panels, each in the form of an arched segment. The arched panels are in two pairs, each pair being mutually opposed. One opposed pair is outward-concave, and the other is outward-convex. When squeezed together, the concave panels brace and stabilize the convex panels: the body is inherently strong and stable in its usage condition. When in a storage condition the same body has just two planar, parallel panels--readily carried in a wallet, or distributed by a mail in a magazine. A light-sensitive medium is held within the body. Mounted to the body is a lens for focusing a scene onto the sensitive medium, and a positively interlocked single-shot shutter mechanism for controlling passage of light through the lens. The sheet material, preferably all one piece, is scored along circular-segmental lines.

  • Patent number: 4846553
Abstract: A foldable viewer includes a front wall having a pair of lens-receiving openings and a pair of optical lenses affixed thereto. A rear wall is included and has a pair of openings over which transparencies depicting stereoscopic images are affixed. The front and rear walls are attached to top, bottom and side walls to create a box-like structure when assembled. The walls cooperate to form a bellows-like structure that permits the viewer to be flattened for storage, mailing or placement in a magazine-like publication.

  • Patent number: 4778564
Abstract: In an assembly tape to be used in the tape automated bonding of semiconductor devices a single layer or two or three layer tape is described. The arrays of finger patterns created in the tape are isolated by forming transverse slots across the tape. These slots act to mechanically isolate adjacent finger patterns and improve tape flexibility. When the tape is passed under the guide shoe in an inner lead bonding machine the metal fingers will not be distorted as the tape flexes. After the semiconductor device is bonded to the tape the increased tape stiffness does not cause the tape to be deflected from its desired location with respect to the guide shoe. The slots desirably span the space between tape locator holes. If desired, the slots can be extended on the finger side of the tape to span the locator holes to form slot extension regions of reduced tape thickness. Alternatively, a slot can be formed from a plurality of shorter slots that in the aggregate perform the same function.

  • Patent number: 4502111
Abstract: An arrangement for identifying and disassembling a series of instructions of variable length stored in a prefetch buffer includes a set of controlled multiplexer circuits for selectively transferring the contents of specified register of the prefetch buffer to a ring or loop-configured shift registers, termed a "byte rotator", which functions as a temporary adjustable storage device. That portion of the byte rotator which contains the opcode token of the instruction read out of the prefetch buffer is decoded to determine the length of each token. Once the length of the first token is known, it can be determined where the second or next token begins. In the same fashion, each successive token is transferred to the byte rotator until all tokens for the current instructions have been used. The next token is the opcode for the following instruction.
