Patent number: 10016894Abstract: A method for controlling a robot in at least one pose of the robot wherein the robot can be operated in either a first mode of operation or a second mode of operation. In the second mode of operation the robot can be moved by manually applying a guiding force to the robot. The method includes determining a distance of a state variable of the robot from a first limit and then triggering a safety response when the distance satisfies a first condition and the robot is operating in the first mode of operation. When the robot is operating in the second mode of operation and the distance satisfies the first condition, the method includes not triggering the safety response, and motorically applying a positioning force to the robot in dependence on the determined distance so that the distance can be reduced when the robot is unobstructed.Type: GrantFiled: July 17, 2015Date of Patent: July 10, 2018Assignee: KUKA Deutschland GmbHInventors: Gerhard Hietmann, Marc-Walter Ueberle, Christian Hartmann, Richard Schwarz, Richard Rudolf

Patent number: 8582863Abstract: A string emanating from a packaging machine is arranged in a slot by means of a feed inlet and placed in a winding shaft (12). This placement is assisted by the use of positioning brushes (4). After the initial introduction, winding up takes place upon rotation of the winding shaft and upon further engagement of the string in the slot (14) in the winding shaft. The winding shaft is provided on a carrying disc (5) and said carrying disc is also arranged so as to be rotatable. During the first stage, the section of the string emanating from the supply path is pulled with constant force. After the string has been separated from the remaining material, the winding is carried out. Subsequently, the rotating shaft with the string, through rotation of the carrying disc, reaches a next position in which pressing the reel and thus adhesion of the reel end moves the winding shaft out of the reel. The reel has already been checked prior to entering the winding device to determine whether it has to be inspected.Type: GrantFiled: September 12, 2008Date of Patent: November 12, 2013Assignee: Global Factories B.V.Inventor: Richard Rudolf Theodoor Van Den Brink

Patent number: 7792349Abstract: Method and device for inspecting a string of packs. Each of the packs contains drugs, and consumer data such as patient data are provided on the packs. Specific characteristics of the drugs to be scanned are fed into a central processing unit. These characteristics are compared with the drugs present in the actual pack. According to the invention, a graphic image of the pack, the drugs and the patient data is produced and stored. To optimize scanning of a group of drugs spreading is proposed by means of a resilient cam which rotates in a plane essentially parallel with the plane of the carrier. Such cam is mounted in a bush and can move resiliently in said bush at right angles to the plane of the carrier and said bush is caused to rotate. It is possible to provide a number of such constructions adjacent to one another.Type: GrantFiled: August 19, 2004Date of Patent: September 7, 2010Assignee: Global Factories B.V.Inventor: Richard Rudolf Theodoor Van Den Brink
