  • Publication number: 20220056002
Abstract: A photocleavable heterobifunctional linker can include a structure of Formula (A) wherein coumarin is any coumarin or coumarin derivative; R, R9, and R10 are each independently a chemical moiety; R1 is a hydrogen, protecting group, leaving group, substrate, or capture entity; R2 is a hydrogen, hydroxyl, halide, alkoxy, anhydride, amino, protecting group, leaving group, substrate, or capture entity; L1 is a sub-linker; and L2 is a sub-linker. A capture device can include the photocleavable bifunctional linker having a structure of Formula (A) as provide herein, wherein R1 is a substrate. A method of capturing a target substance can include: providing the capture device having the photocleavable bifunctional linker with the structure of Formula (A) and contacting a target substance to the capture moiety such that the target substance is captured. Irradiating the linker with light can cleave the linker, thereby releasing the target substance from the substrate.

  • Patent number: 8115029
Abstract: Oxidations of hydrocarbons, cycloalkanes and alkenes, arylalkanes, and a variety of other organic substrates are accomplished by cobalt-N-hydroxysuccinimide co-catalyzed reactions with dioxygen under unusually mild, near ambient conditions of temperature and pressure. The improved safety of the oxidation method and the high yields of product obtained make use of a unique combination of cobalt (II) complexes with N-hydroxysuccinimide. These autoxidation reactions do not have prolonged initiation times. Many of these reactions can be safely performed under normal chemical laboratory conditions and do not require specialized equipment or reagents.

  • Patent number: 6783539
Abstract: A phototriggerable composition and method for use in crosslinking protein such as collagen comprising application of a tethered diazopyruvate composition followed by irradiation, whereby the composition results in the sutureless wound closure of, for example, a tendon or cornea.

  • Patent number: 4758520
Abstract: A chemiluminescence method for assaying compounds containing primary amino groups using 1-cyano-2-substituted benz(f)- or naphth(f)-isoindole fluorescers is disclosed. The 1-cyano-2-substituted benz(f)- or naphth(f)-isoindole (CBI or CNI) is formed by reacting a compound containing a primary amino group with naphthalene-2-3-dicarboxaldehyde or anthracene-2,3-dicarboxaldehyde in the presence of cyanide ion. The reaction product of hydrogen peroxide with an oxalate ester is then combined with the CBI or CNI to form an analyte which exhibits chemiluminescence. A detector is used to measure the chemiluminescence emission from the chemiluminescence derivatized analytes. Compounds containing primary amino groups which may be assayed according to the present invention include primary amines, amino acids, peptides and catecholamines. The method can also be adapted to the analysis of trace amounts of cyanide ion and hydrogen peroxide.

  • Patent number: 4723022
Abstract: A new class of substituted 2,3-naphthalenedicarboxaldehydes (NDA) is disclosed. Such compounds are of the formula: ##STR1## wherein one or more of R.sub.1 -R.sub.8 are various substituting groups. The above compounds react, in the presence of cyanide ion, with compounds containing primary amino groups to form adducts which exhibit a high fluorescent yield and thus are readily detected and measured by fluorometric assaying techniques.
