  • Publication number: 20160332932
Abstract: Processes for producing a propylene stream having at least 95% propylene and a reduced level of dienes. A selective hydrogenation zone converts dienes into olefins in a stream having at least C3 and C4 olefins from a feed stream including butene and C4 dienes. The selective hydrogenation zone may be disposed between a demethanizer and a deethanzier or it may be disposed downstream of both the demethanizer and the deethanizer. A C3 splitter and an acetylene conversion zone may be utilized.

  • Patent number: 7960600
Abstract: Meta-xylene is recovered from admixture with other C8 aromatic hydrocarbons including ortho-xylene by liquid phase adsorptive separation. Performance is improved by reducing the concentration of ortho-xylene through adding a sidecut to a prefractionator preparing the feedstock to adsorptive separation.

  • Patent number: 7410804
Abstract: A process of forming an array of powder samples arranged in predefined locations where all samples have a flat surface in a common plane has been developed. A main support having at least N perforations from a first surface of the main support through a second surface of the main support in predefined locations. The main support is equipped with a flat support temporarily attached to its first surface. All samples are loaded simultaneously. A flat surface of each sample, where the flat surfaces are a common plane, is formed by forcing the samples within the perforations against the flat support. The samples are retained in position within the perforations against the flat support using at least one cover. The flat surfaces of the samples are in predefined locations and are all in a common plane.
