  • Patent number: 11555225
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a hypoid gear includes face hobbing a gear blank and forming a green hypoid gear with gear teeth, heat treating the green hypoid gear to form a heat treated hypoid gear with heat treated gear teeth, and hard hobbing the heat treated gear teeth to form a hard finished hypoid gear. Critical non-tooth features on the heat treated hypoid gear are hard finished. Also, the critical non-tooth features on the heat treated hypoid gear can be hard finished prior to hard hobbing the heat treated gear teeth. The heat treating includes at least one of carburizing and induction hardening the green hypoid gear, a surface of the heat treated gear teeth has a hardness greater than or equal to 58 HRC, and the hard hobbing removes heat distortion from the heat treated gear teeth.

  • Publication number: 20180257197
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a gear having root fillets between adjacent teeth that are shot peered to improve compressive strength. A robot moves a shot peening nozzle between adjacent teeth. A servomotor drive indexes the gear in increments corresponding to one or more teeth. The nozzle has a tapered tip that is moved between adjacent tooth faces with clearance relative to the tooth faces.

  • Publication number: 20050080726
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for managing a financial account in which account information is maintained for the financial account on a host system. The account information includes a set of account parameter values and a specification of a base account processing strategy. An entry in a lookup table is maintained on a storage device in communication with the host system is accessed. The entry is defined by at least one of the account parameter values. An operation specified by the entry and inconsistent with operations specified by the base account processing strategy is implemented to override at least a portion of the base account processing strategy. The base account processing strategy is reverted to with the host system in response to satisfaction of a predetermined trigger condition.

  • Patent number: 6177133
Abstract: A spin coating process for controlling the mean thickness of photoresist on the surface of a semiconductor wafer. The wafer surface has a central axis normal to the surface. The process comprises the steps of applying the solution to the wafer surface and spinning the wafer about the central axis at a spindle speed until the solution has dried. The spindle speed is a function of the desired mean thickness of the photoresist, the barometric pressure and the relative humidity. The spindle speed is determined from a statistical model described by the equation: MT=A+B×RH+C×BP+D/SS1/2 wherein: MT is mean thickness in Å; RH is relative humidity in percent; BP is barometric pressure in mm of Hg; SS is spindle speed in rpm; and A, B, C and D are constant coefficients.

  • Patent number: 6027760
Abstract: An apparatus for spin coating surfaces with liquid polymer comprises a spin coating chamber having a rotatable chuck for supporting an object to be coated. A distributor introduces gases into the chamber. A solvent vapor and carrier gas supply provides a carrier gas having a controlled level of solvent vapor therein within the range of from 0 to saturation concentrations of solvent vapor. A solvent vapor sensor is positioned with respect to the coating chamber to produce signals which correspond to the concentration of solvent vapor in the coating chamber. A control means is connected to the solvent vapor concentration sensor and to the solvent vapor and carrier gas supply means for controlling the level of solvent concentration in the carrier gas supplied by the solvent vapor and carrier gas supply means. The solvent vapor level can be obtained by controlled mixing of solvent-bearing and solvent-free gas streams, or by injection of solvent into a gas stream by means of an atomizer, for example.
