    Abstract: A fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) process performed in a FCC process unit containing a reactor, a regenerator and an outboard vessel. Catalyst particles containing vanadium are circulated back and forth from the reactor to the regenerator and back and forth from the regenerator and the outboard vessel. The outboard vessel contains a vanadium trap material that removes vanadium from at least a portion of the catalyst particles.
