  • Patent number: 8776292
Abstract: A pillow having a resilient pillow body with a sound transmitting passageway extending through the pillow to bring sound from outside the pillow through an inlet in the side of the pillow to an outlet in the central area of the top of the pillow so that a person using the pillow, with his ear on the outlet, can hear the sound. The passageway has an inlet section leading from the inlet into the pillow which section forms an exponential acoustic horn to amplify and clarify the sound transmitted by the passageway.

  • Patent number: 7188378
Abstract: A lighting system for use with an above-ground swimming pool includes a water access fixture extending through an aperture in the pool wall, for connection with the pool circulation system; and incorporates a sealed light assembly with a translucent cover; secured in depending adjoined, unitary relation with the access fixture. An extended electrical power cord connects with an external power supply and the light assembly, enabling removal of the light assembly from beneath the water, for repair or replacement. A rectifier/transformer 12-volt supply serves the planar array of LED lights, which may be R/G/B and programmed to give a spectrum of coloured lights.

  • Patent number: 6460799
Abstract: A toilet paper holding device for releasably securing a spare roll of toilet paper to a spindle includes a tubular member is which elongated and has a first end and a second end. The tubular member has a pair of apertures extending therethrough. Each of the apertures is positioned adjacent to one of the first and second ends.

  • Patent number: 5716350
Abstract: For use in combination with an incontinence garment, a protection device includes a generally planar deflection shield formed of a moisture impervious material. The deflection shield is of sufficient length to extend from above the penis shaft downwardly to the approximate level of the scrotum of the male. The deflection shield includes a clearance aperture permitting the penis shaft to extend through the deflection shield to assure urine is deflected away from the scrotum of the male. The deflection shield includes a sack-like structure extending from a lower portion of the deflection shield adapted to at least partially enclose the scrotum of the male. In an alternative embodiment of the invention, a lower portion of the deflection shield is directly attached to the incontinence garment.

  • Patent number: 5713164
Abstract: The installation of a vinyl liner within an in-ground swimming pool is carried out using a direct drive, over-hung vacuum machine to exhaust air from between the liner and the steel walls and cement bowl within which the liner is installed. The vacuum machine has the overhung impellor located within a volute chamber isolated from the driving electric motor, so that the induced air flow is segregated from the driving motor. The vacuum machine impellor is of non-corrosive material, to avoid corrosion of the impellor when water is entrained, and to avoid the consequent imbalance and undue wear of the bearing that would otherweise ensue. The paddle-style impellor blades ensure that the vacuum suction is insufficient to cause intake of the pool liner into the air-evacuation hose.
