Patent number: 9387965Abstract: A dispensing closure for dispensing a flowable product from a container has a main body portion, a sealed lid portion, and a hinged closure tab held closed by a child-resistant latch. The main body is securable to a container by a lower skirt portion and includes an interior measuring reservoir. The dispensing closure receives a dip tube extending to the bottom of a container, and upon squeezing the container directs product from the dip tube through an entrance conduit into the dispensing closure. When pressure is released, product flows back into the container through the conduit leaving behind a measured dose within the measuring reservoir. A shroud depending from the lid portion prevents product from being squeezed directly from the entrance conduit out of the exit orifice. A child resistant actuator limits unintended opening of the hinged closure tab.Type: GrantFiled: August 15, 2014Date of Patent: July 12, 2016Assignee: WESTROCK SLATERSVILLE, LLCInventors: Clifford W. Skillin, Richard A. Tarozzi

Patent number: 9194732Abstract: A closure for dispensing a metered amount of dry product from a container includes a dispensing cap and a metering drum rotatably mounted on the dispensing cap. The dispensing cap has an upper deck with a dispensing aperture and a skirt engaging the neck of the container. The metering drum has an upper deck, a lower deck, and a metering chamber therebetween. The metering chamber has an entrance aperture in the lower deck and an exit aperture in the upper deck. The metering drum is rotatable relative to the dispensing cap between a filling position, where the metering chamber is aligned with the dispensing aperture and dry product fills the chamber, and a dispensing position where the metering chamber is not aligned with the dispensing aperture and dry product can be dispensed. The dispensing cap and the metering drum include formations to index a position of the metering drum.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 2012Date of Patent: November 24, 2015Assignee: WestRock Slatersville, LLCInventors: Richard Tarozzi, Clifford Skillin, Patrick Brannon

Patent number: 8381925Abstract: A dispensing closure and label system provides a clear indication of prior opening directly at the point of application of force to open the closure. The dispensing closure includes a closure body, a living hinge and a lid. The lid includes a downwardly depending sidewall that has a thumb tab that extends down beyond the parting line of the lid and the closure body. A label wraps around the skirt and container neck. The label overlaps that portion of the thumb tab that extends below the parting line of the lid and body. When the thumb tub is lifted to open the container, the paper label is ripped in the area of the thumb tab to evidence opening.Type: GrantFiled: April 12, 2007Date of Patent: February 26, 2013Assignee: MWV Slatersville, LLCInventors: Clifford W. Publication number: 20070241075Abstract: The present invention provides a dispensing closure and label system that provides a clear indication of prior opening directly at the point of application of force to open the closure. More specifically, the system includes a dispensing closure containing a closure body, a living hinge, and a lid. The closure body further includes a downwardly depending skirt. The lid includes a downwardly depending sidewall that is provided with a protruding thumb tab that extends downwardly beyond a parting line of the lid and the closure body. A label wraps around the skirt and container neck. The label also overlaps that portion of the thumb tab that extends downward below the parting line of the closure lid and closure body. In this regard, when the thumb tab is lifted to open the container, the paper label is ripped in the area of the thumb tab to evidence opening thereof.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 12, 2007Publication date: October 18, 2007Applicant: POLYTOP CORPORATIONInventors: Clifford Skillin, Richard Tarozzi

Patent number: 6790167Abstract: A striking bag apparatus which is easy to manufacture, assemble, transport or move, and adjust in height, and which is effectively self-supported such that no sparring partner is needed. The striking bag apparatus is composed of a hollow base, hollow cylindrical column, and striking pad. The striking pad is preferably a foam sleeve covered by a smooth striking surface installed around the upper portion of the cylindrical column which is held in a substantially vertical position by the base. Both the column and base may be filled with water, sand, metal shot, or other suitable weighting substance to provide for increased stability and support, via easily accessible fill apertures in the column and base. The height of the striking surface may be easily adjusted, without disassembly, by rotating the column within the base, in a simple “corkscrew” fashion. The base is provided with wheels to aid in moving the apparatus.Type: GrantFiled: January 23, 2002Date of Patent: September 14, 2004Assignee: Technical Knockout, Inc.Inventors: Mitch Carlin, Richard Tarozzi
