  • Patent number: 8534122
Abstract: A system for airflow testing a turbine engine component having multiple cavities has a test fixture with a module for supporting a turbine engine component to be tested and a sliding element for sequentially allowing a pressurized fluid to flow through each of the multiple cavities in the turbine engine component. A method for performing the airflow testing is also described.

  • Patent number: 7291800
Abstract: An electrical discharge machining assembly has a fixture that retains an electrode. The fixture has clamps to apply a clamping force to the electrode. A threaded member adjusts the compression of a spring to change the clamping force for each clamp. For each clamp, the spring applies a force to a clamp lever pivotably attached to the fixture. Pivoting of the clamp lever moves a lower portion of each clamp lever closer to the fixture clamping the electrode to the fixture body. A clamp release is located proximate to the fixture to rotate the clamp levers in an opposite direction releasing the clamping pressure and the electrode.

  • Publication number: 20050217131
Abstract: A template for evaluating a part, comprising: a surface having a shape corresponding to the part; and at least one element on the surface corresponding to a desired location of a feature on the part. A method of evaluating a part, comprising the steps of: providing a template having a shape corresponding to the part and at least one element thereon corresponding to a desired location on the part; associating the template with the part; and using the element to determine whether the feature is at the desired location.

  • Publication number: 20050005852
Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus for coating one or more workpieces such as components to be used in jet engines or industrial turbines. The apparatus comprises a device for simultaneously manipulating a workpiece about multiple axes while holding a center of the workpiece at a fixed position with respect to a source of coating material. The device for manipulating the workpiece preferably comprises a modular fixture while allows the workpiece to be simultaneously rotated about a first axis, rotated about a second axis at an angle to the first axis, and titled through a range of motion such as from +45 degrees to ?45 degrees with respect to the first axis.
