    Abstract: The invention is a hand operated snow removal device adjustable for use on both pitched or flat surfaces. It consists of a scooping element supported on an adjustable guide spacer attached to the scooping element adapted to support the scooping element above the snow surface. A handle extends through the scooping element and is adjustably clamped for a flat roof use or a pitched roof use. It is hand operated by a forward and backward motion of the handle which picks up and discharges snow to the side as it is being operated.

    Abstract: A fluidic oscillator comprises a housing having interior walls defining a cylindrical space therein, a fluidic oscillator is mounted in said cylindrical space and has an oscillating chamber having an upstream end and a downstream end. A power nozzle issues a jet of fluid into the oscillation chamber from the upstream end thereof, an outlet formed in the downstream end. A pair of control ports at opposing sides of the power nozzle are coupled to a pair of feedback entranceways in the downstream end of the oscillator chamber and at corresponding opposing sides of the outlet. The control passageways connect each feedback entranceway with the a control port on the opposing sides, respectively. Each control passageway is formed in part by the interior wall and the oscillator element.

    Abstract: A joint comprising a body member defining an annular groove and a pair of tangential notches intersecting the annular groove at diametrically opposed positions. A socket member is comprised of a preferably semispherically shaped frame having an open side and a pair of diametrically opposed knob or pin member. Each knob or pin member is engagable with one of the tangential notches to snap fit the body member within the semispherically shaped frame and within the annular groove. The body member is secured to a mounting bar and the semispherically shaped frame has an elongated slot and the mounting bar passes through the slot. The arrangement is such that the slot defines one path of rotation of the shaped frame member relative to the body member and the annular groove defines a second path of relative rotation between the body member and the shaped frame.

    Abstract: A windshield washer system has a nozzle mounted on a vehicle for issuing wash fluid to a windshield and a check valve for a fluid circuit from a supply of wash fluid to the nozzle. The nozzle has a fluid feed tube integrally formed therewith with annular walls defining a washer fluid flow path and a diameter of at least D. The feed tube has an external surface adapted to receive and retain a flexible hose from a supply of wash fluid. A spring shoulder receives a coil compression spring having upstream and downstream ends with the downstream end bearing on the spring shoulder. A valve element bears on the upstream end of the spring element, and a tubular insert having an inner end and an external diameter at least D and sufficient to form an elongated wash fluid seal with the annular walls defining a washer fluid flow path, and complementary-shaped valve seat formed on the inner end.

    Abstract: A machine for removing tubular plastic labels from bottles to facilitate their re-use and recycling. The machine has a multi-station turret and supply and exit conveyors to sequentially supply labeled bottles in line to the turret and remove delabeled bottles from the turret. The delabeling is accomplished with a cutter which is preferably in the form of a high-pressure jet of water. Ideally, the cutter is adjusted so that it is a differential cutter which will cut a label without cutting or marring a bottle from which a label is being removed. With one embodiment, a water flush mechanism is provided to flush cut labels from their bottles and the turret onto a screen conveyor. The flush water passes through the conveyor into a container from which it is pumped for re-use. Removed labels are transported by the screen conveyor to a collection bin. With another embodiment, an air blast mechanism is used to strip cut labels from bottles and a vacuum pick up is used to collect stripped labels.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for removing film sleeves from objects quickly and easily. The apparatus includes a housing and frame structure adapted to be shifted from a vessel pick-up station to a vessel processing station. A plurality of transfer heads carried by the frame structure are provided. Each head is positioned to grasp an associated one of a set of vessels disposed in a transport case positioned at the pick-up station. A transfer head actuating structure is adapted to cause the heads respectively associated with vessels at the pick-up station to substantially concurrently grasp the associated vessels. The frame structure is then shifted to shift the vessels to the processing station as the frame structure is shifted to the processing station. The actuating structure is further adapted to cause the heads to release associated vessels once they are transferred to the processing station.

    Abstract: A signal selection and fault detection system that provides triple functional redundancy using the outputs (Y.sub.A, Y.sub.B) of two unmonitored primary channels and the output of one or the other of two complementary filters (22, 34) that each receive and process a signal (Y dot IRU) that is derived from a third, independent primary signal source (18) and that is representative of the rate or first derivative of the primary signals (Y.sub.A, Y.sub.B). During non-failure conditions, the system output (Y.sub.CF1) is generated by a normal mode complementary filter 22 from the synthesized rate signal (Y dot IRU) and the selected (10) midvalue one of this output signal (Y.sub.CF1) and the primary signals (Y.sub.A, Y.sub.B). In the event of a suspected failure in one of the primary signals, the output (Y.sub.IRU) of a failure mode complementary filter is substituted (16) for the system output signal (Y.sub.CF1) as the third input (C) to the midvalue selector (10).
