  • Patent number: 9870648
Abstract: A central computing system is configured to monitor quotas for multiple different classifications of vehicles that park in a parking facility. License plate reading (LPR) cameras read the license information of each vehicle entering and exiting a parking facility. The vehicle images or identifications are communicated to the central computing system which updates its database and monitors each virtual lot in the parking facility according to quotas, prices and other parameters for each corresponding class of vehicles. Control gates can be provided at entrances and exits to the parking facility. A parking kiosk can be provided to the parking facility that is networked with the central computing system.

  • Publication number: 20170213262
Abstract: Parking validation systems and methods are disclosed for managing parking events and providing a merchant the ability to validate parking for their customer. A network of intelligent parking meters is networked with a central control computer system. The merchant sets up a validation account. The merchant can set alterable parameters of their account. The parker can scan a QR code, provided by a merchant, using a mobile parking application or can scan a parking coupon at the parking meter or kiosk. The merchant's point of sale system in other embodiments can interface with the central computer over the network to validate the parking of a customer of that merchant. The merchant's validation account is debited the validation amount.

  • Publication number: 20170116857
Abstract: Disclosed are devices, systems and methods for managing parking monitoring and enforcement. In one aspect, an in ground sensor provides a first vehicle detection technique and a video camera employing machine vision provides a second vehicle detection technique. A vehicle detection technique for a smart parking meter utilizes both of the first and second detection techniques to make a highly accurate determination of a vehicle entering a parking space and a vehicle exiting a parking space. The second detection technique can be used to perform a double check on the first technique, or vice versa.

  • Publication number: 20170032582
Abstract: A software application executing on a parking enforcement officer's (PEO's) computing device (e.g. smart phone, tablet, laptop or personal computer) communicates with a central computing system networked with a plurality of smart parking meters, directs the PEO to the location of a violation, and facilitates generation of a parking citation to be issued by the PEO, wherein the citation has at least some of the data fields prefilled.

  • Publication number: 20170032584
Abstract: A mobile computing device executing software code interacts with a smart parking meter to permit the user to complete a parking transaction without the need to exit their car. The transaction proceeds digitally and confirmation of the purchase is sent to the user's smartphone or via other electronic message means. The user can access an interactive map via the parking application to provide real time status of the networked parking meters in a specific area. The user can view all meters meeting certain criteria, such as pricing and time to availability. The user can also reserve a particular parking space through the application. The user can further be directed to their car via map directions.

  • Patent number: 4494764
Abstract: A support leg (24) is attached to a rear portion (12) of the frame (10) of a motorcycle (2) on the same side of the frame (10) as the kickstand (8), between the kickstand (8) and the rear wheel (6). A pair of laterally spaced ears (42) project upwardly from the upper end of the leg (24). A screw (46) extends through coaxial holes (44) in the ears (42) and a preexisting hole (14) in the frame (10) to attach the leg (24). The lift stand (22) has a support position in which the leg (24) extends downwardly and forwardly from the frame (10) to the ground and the motorcycle is supported on its front wheel (4), the kickstand (8) and the lift stand (22), with the rear wheel (6) being elevated from the ground. A support surface (38) between the ears (42) contacts a bottom surface of the frame (10). To move the lift stand (22) into its support position, the motorcycle (2) is tilted to lean toward the kickstand (8) and the leg (24) until the leg (24) contacts the ground.
