In some embodiments, a base for a surgical table includes a base body to which other components of a surgical table can be coupled. A surgical table, and optionally a patient supportable by the surgical table, and any equipment to be carried by the surgical table, collectively representing a table load to be carried by the base body to support the surgical table on a surface. The base further includes a support assembly coupled to the base body to support the base body on the surface. The support assembly includes at least four support members. Each support member has a surface-engaging end and can transmit a portion of a total load represented by the weight of the base and the table load through the surface-engaging end to the surface. The surface-engaging ends of any three of the four support members define a plane.Type: GrantFiled: November 27, 2017Date of Patent: November 14, 2023Assignees: Verb Surgical Inc., Maquet GMBHInventors: Richard William Timm, Vijay Soundararajan

Patent number: 11802430Abstract: The present invention is a novel hinge design that allows unique operation of the lid for a container, box, storage chest, ice chest or similar item. In addition to the lid being able to flip up on two hinges as is traditional, the present invention allows the lid to swivel to one side or the other, while remaining in the horizontal plane. This is accomplished, in the exemplary embodiment, by means of two inventive ball-and-socket hinges each of which can have its ball disengaged from its socket. If one ball-and-socket hinge is thus disengaged, the lid is then free to rotate horizontally around the other ball-and-socket hinge, thereby swiveling the lid to one side and effectively opening the box or container. The lid, when opened in this fashion, is amply supported by the end of the box over which it sits, and can act as a table or flat surface for organizing items as they are transferred to or from the box or container.Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 2022Date of Patent: October 31, 2023Inventor: Richard William Schofield

Publication number: 20230313541Abstract: A vertical joint system for substrates is formed with joints and which engaged by relative motion in a direction perpendicular to major surfaces and of the substrate. The joints are configured to enable relative rotation of up to 3 degrees while maintaining engagement of the joints. The joints and are further configured to form two locking planes one on each of the inner and outer most sides of the joint. Engagement about the locking planes is provided by transverse outward extending surfaces. At least one surface in each pair of engaging surfaces is smoothly curved. The joints and can be further arranged to provide a third locking plane parallel to and between the locking planes. The joints are disengaged by combination of a downward rotation of one joint relative the other then application of a downward force.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 28, 2023Publication date: October 5, 2023Applicant: Välinge Innovation ABInventor: Richard William Kell

Patent number: 11740884Abstract: A method, computer system, and computer program product for migrating a service (e.g. microservice) from using a first application programming interface version to using a second (e.g. newer or updated) application programming interface version. The method may include determining a difference between specifications of the first and second versions of the application programming interface. Historical usage of the first version of the application programming interface by the service may then be analyzed with respect to the difference so as to determine if the service meets the specification of the second version of the application programming interface. Responsive to determining the service meets the specification of the second version of the application programming interface difference, the service may be migrated from using the first version of the application programming interface to using the second version of the application programming interface.Type: GrantFiled: September 19, 2019Date of Patent: August 29, 2023Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Jack William Donato Evans, Martin A. Patent number: 11739963Abstract: Systems and techniques are described for alerting individuals of HVAC system issues in their home. In some implementations, a monitoring system monitors a property that includes sensors located throughout the property and generates sensor data. A monitor control unit receives thermostat data from a thermostat that indicates activity of the HVAC system and temperature history of the property. The monitor control unit applies the thermostat and the sensor data to an HVAC model that is trained using past sensor data, past thermostat data, past errors of the HVAC system. The monitor control unit determines an error of the HVAC system from the HVAC model output. The monitor control unit determines an action for likely correcting the error of the HVAC system. The monitor control unit provides, for output, data identifying the error of the HVAC system and the action for likely correcting the error of the HVAC system.Type: GrantFiled: November 18, 2020Date of Patent: August 29, 2023Assignee: Alarm.com IncorporatedInventors: Robert Nathan Picardi, Peter Richard Williams, Zachary William Seid, Kyle Rankin Johnson, Daniel Marc Goodman, Craig Carl Heffernan, Caspar John Anderegg, Harrison Wayne Donahue, Gustaf Nicolaus Maxwell Lonaeus
