  • Patent number: 11839483
Abstract: Methods and systems for providing depth-resolved real-time visual feedback to a physician during cosmetic dermal filler injections with micrometer spatial resolution utilizing a noninvasive optical coherence tomography/elastography, 2D-3D virtual and real time system. This system can be automated to direct proper volumes and viscosity of the necessary injection substances. The methods and systems allow for assessment of the elasticity of the tissue before and after the injection to evaluate the efficacy of the injection, with predetermined virtual results before and matched post injection images. The elasticity assessment method preferably utilizes a focused air-pulse to induce a micrometer scale displacement in the skin and the optical coherence tomography system to image this displacement. By utilizing a model-based reconstruction method, the viscoelasticity of the tissue at a specific measurement position can be obtained and virtual and post injection real time projections can be imaged.

  • Publication number: 20080058755
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided by which a fluid may be drawn and packaged within a series of interconnected sterile units. Once filled with the fluid, the connectors joining the sterile units may be sealed and severed to produce a number of separate sterile units. The volume of the separate sterile units may correspond to a single dose of the fluid. The technique allows a fluid to be partitioned into sterile units without exposure to the air or other potential contaminants.

  • Patent number: 7300151
Abstract: An apparatus and method for preventing ocular surface abnormalities. This apparatus includes a frame containing at least one lens and at least one seal. The frame, lens, and seal provide an area about the eyes of a user that is at least partially enclosed from a surrounding environment when worn. Humidity and temperature are increased in the area about the eyes of the user to provide a microenvironment in the area about the eyes of the user. The microenvironment is capable of reducing or preventing ocular surface abnormalities, alleviating ocular discomfort, and improving ocular health. The seal may be removable and may attach to prescription eyeglasses, sunglasses, and so on. The seal may also contain a filter, such as a HEPA filter.

  • Publication number: 20050186711
Abstract: A mould for encapsulating an integrated circuit package on a leadframe including a top mould-half and a complementary bottom mould-half enclosing a cavity for encapsulating said package wherein structures are provided on at least one of said mould-halves which, upon the closure of said mould-halves, closes off the spaces between adjacent leads of the leadframe to allow only said leads to extend out of said cavity. The structures may be protrusions from the mould half closing off the spaces. Notches or slots cut to allow the leads' extension are the preferred structures due to ease of machining. The mould design thus enables a leadframe package to be moulded with a peripheral flange as narrow as desired without the need to cut a broad conventional flange formed up to the dam bar because only the leads and tie bars are left to be singulated. A method for making the above mould as well as singulation methods for cutting and punching the leads and tie bars is also disclosed.
