Publication number: 20240082653Abstract: A golf club head having a slot in the sole filled with an insert in which the slot is positioned close to the striking face. The slot can be a uniform distance from the striking face or the slot can curve away from the striking face in the toe region. The insert can have a uniform height or a non-uniform height. Inserts with uniform heights can have a low height profile. Inserts with non-uniform heights can have a lower height in a central portion of the insert compared to an edge portion or a perimeter portion of the insert. The insert can also have flanges or protrusions for installation into the slot. The resulting golf club head improves performance, as the sole slot with insert allows the striking face to have a profile that meets the needs at that location.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 8, 2022Publication date: March 14, 2024Inventors: Doug Takehara, Grant Martens, Richard L. Cleghorn, Charles E. Golden, Hiroshi Kawaguchi, Sang Yi, Kyle A. Carr, Jonathan Hebreo

Patent number: 9936016Abstract: A cloud based collaborative work environment enables users to work collaboratively within a shared workspace. An application server on a host device is accessible to client devices via a communication network and maintains the shared workspace for collaboration between users. Client applications hosted on client devices enable users of the workspace to access and make changes in the shared workspace, such as adding or deleting items to or from the workspace, editing or annotating existing items, viewing items in the workspace, or downloading items in the workspace. Local copies of the shared workspace are maintained by the client devices and are synchronized with the shared workspace maintained by the application server so that any changes made to by a user to its local copy of the shared workspace are propagated to other users. Thus, synchronization is maintained between master workspace and the local workspaces on the client devices.Type: GrantFiled: December 12, 2014Date of Patent: April 3, 2018Assignee: Afinos, Inc.Inventors: Richard Krueger, Richard Yi

Publication number: 20160149839Abstract: A network-based chat server provides a virtual chat room for chat participants, and synchronizes and shares chat dialogue exchanged between the chat participants regardless of whether the chat participants are logged onto the same chat platform or different chat platforms. The chat server includes a plurality of chat proxies; each of which is configured to communicate data with a particular chat platform. A chat synchronizer function executing at the chat server communicates the chat dialogue between the chat participants via the chat proxies.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 20, 2015Publication date: May 26, 2016Inventors: Richard Yi, Pliny Porter

Publication number: 20110046747Abstract: This invention involves a plasma treated and controllable release antimicrobial peptide coated titanium alloy for surgical implantation, where the alloy with antimicrobial properties is fabricated using surface techniques without adversely compromising its biocompatibility and original mechanical properties. The surface techniques form antimicrobial layers on the alloy capable of resisting microbial adhesion and proliferation, while allowing mammalian cell adhesion and proliferation when the alloy is implanted to human body. In one embodiment, PIII&D is applied to incorporate ions, electrons, free radicals, atoms or molecules on a titanium alloy substrate. A pressurized hydrothermal treatment can be carried out to establish reactive functional groups for antimicrobial purpose or for connecting the substrate and external antimicrobial molecules.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 16, 2010Publication date: February 24, 2011Inventors: Kelvin Wai Kwok Yeung, Kenneth Man Chee Cheung, Keith Dip Kei Luk, Che Yan Yeung, Richard Yi Tsun Kao, Paul Kim Ho Chu

Publication number: 20080083329Abstract: We have devised an apparatus useful for and a method of removing impurities from vaporous precursor compositions used to generate reactive precursor vapors from which thin films/layers are formed under sub-atmospheric conditions. The method is particularly useful when the layer deposition apparatus provides for precise addition of quantities of different combinations of reactants during a single step or when there are a number of different individual steps in the layer formation process, where the presence of impurities has a significant affect on both the quantity of reactants being charged and the overall composition of the reactant mixture from which the layer is deposited. The method is particularly useful when the vapor pressure of a liquid reactive precursor is less than about 250 Torr at atmospheric pressure.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 20, 2007Publication date: April 10, 2008Inventors: Boris Kobrin, Romuald Nowak, Jeffrey Chinn, Richard Yi

Publication number: 20080081151Abstract: An improved vapor-phase deposition method and apparatus for the application of multilayered films/coatings on substrates is described. The method is used to deposit multilayered coatings where the thickness of an oxide-based layer in direct contact with a substrate is controlled as a function of the chemical composition of the substrate, whereby a subsequently deposited layer bonds better to the oxide-based layer. The improved method is used to deposit multilayered coatings where an oxide-based layer is deposited directly over a substrate and a SAM organic-based layer is directly deposited over the oxide-based layer. Typically a series of alternating layers of oxide-based layer and organic-based layer are applied.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 26, 2007Publication date: April 3, 2008Inventors: Boris Kobrin, Jeffrey Chinn, Romuald Nowak, Richard Yi
