  • Publication number: 20140168020
Abstract: A lighting device including at least one light source, a housing located adjacent to the at least one light source, the housing defining a longitudinal axis and being intersected by a lateral axis and an antenna at least partially enclosed by the housing and located proximal to the at least one light source, the antenna being operative to radiate energy, more than half of the energy being radiated in a direction within a hemisphere symmetric about the longitudinal axis and having an equatorial plane in which the lateral axis extends.

  • Publication number: 20130069837
Abstract: An antenna including a reflector formed by a ground plane, the ground plane having a notch therein, at least one parasitic director offset from the ground plane and a driven element formed by a dipole antenna coupled to the ground plane in proximity to the notch and located between the at least one parasitic director and an edge of the ground plane.

  • Patent number: 7868842
Abstract: A dual polarization base station antenna producing a beam having 3 dB azimuth beamwidth of E(theta) within 5° of the 3 dB azimuth beamwidth of E(phi). The antenna also maintains E(theta) and E(phi) within 3 dB of each other over a wide beamwidth up to 120°, and over a wide bandwidth of 30% of the center frequency. The antenna achieves these performance characteristics through beam shaping structures connected to or located near the ground plane supporting the dipole antenna elements. By adjusting the locations and shapes of the beam shaping structures, specific antennas are designed to meet these design characteristics for different desired beamwidths, including 45°, 60°, 90° and 120°.
