  • Patent number: 9597616
Abstract: A connection between a fluid filter and a head is described that permits quick connection/disconnection between the two without requiring disconnection of fluid lines from the head. The head includes a lock to connect inlet and outlet fluid lines to a fluid filter using a non-threaded attachment method. The lock that retains the head to the fluid filter is flexible to allow for connection and disconnection. The head has fluid inlet and outlet ports to which fluid lines attach to flow unfiltered fluid into and filtered fluid out of the fluid filter when the head is connected to the fluid filter. The head closes the fluid filter, which has a protrusion with adjacent passageways that guide and separate unfiltered from filtered fluid.

  • Patent number: 8216470
Abstract: A filter cartridge is described that is designed to accommodate for example dual stage filtration. The filter cartridge has an endplate structure formed of a heat cured material, such as polyurethane, where at least one of the top end and the bottom end of the outer filter and the inner filter are embedded within the heat cured material. The heat cured material can provide an endplate structure that is convenient for manufacture and that has one or more sealing surfaces to seal with a housing that the filter cartridge is assembled with. For example, the heat cured material of the endplate can seal non-filtered fluid from filtered fluid that has passed through each of the filtration stages available in the cartridge.

  • Publication number: 20100294707
Abstract: A filter cartridge is described that is designed to accommodate multi-stage filtration, for example dual stage filtration. A filter cartridge includes an outer filter with an endplate and an inner filter arranged within the central axis of the outer filter and that includes an endplate. The endplate of the outer filter includes an outer portion and an inner portion substantially surrounded by the outer portion. The inner portion is axially positioned relative to the outer portion and distal to the inner and outer filters relative to the outer portion. The inner portion includes an upwardly extending flange. The endplate of the inner filter includes a downwardly extending flange. The endplates of the outer and inner filters are arranged in a snap fit connection through engagement of the upwardly extending and the downwardly extending flanges. The endplate structure can provide a filter cartridge with filters of generally equal lengths.

  • Patent number: 7655140
Abstract: A fuel water separator system includes a fuel tank for storing fuel and a fuel water separator fluidly coupled to the fuel tank for separating water from the fuel. A fuel pump has a suction side that is fluidly coupled to the fuel water separator for pumping fuel from the fuel water separator. The fuel pump has a high pressure side where the fuel has a higher pressure than at the suction side. A water pump, such as a venturi or a jet pump, is fluidly coupled between the fuel water separator and the fuel tank for pumping the water from the fuel water separator into the fuel tank. The water pump is fluidly coupled to the high pressure side of the fuel pump to receive the fuel at the higher pressure to drive the water pump.

  • Patent number: 7572306
Abstract: A filter system includes a filter configured to regulate fuel pressure as well as automatically vent air from the filter. A pressure regulator valve is positioned in the top of a standpipe of the filter. The filter includes a filter cartridge with top and bottom end caps. The top end cap of the filter cartridge has a hole with radial sealing gasket, which seals against the top of the standpipe to prohibit flow from bypassing the filter cartridge. This arrangement exposes the regulator valve to the fuel and/or air at the top of the filter housing. Pressure in the housing opens the valve, allowing air and/or fuel to be vented through the standpipe, and back to the fuel tank.

  • Patent number: 7431575
Abstract: A priming pump for fluid delivery arranged with a base defining a flow inlet, a flow outlet, and a control valve positioned therebetween. The priming pump includes a housing assembled to the base with an inlet flow valve positioned in an inlet valve compartment and an outlet flow valve positioned in an outlet valve compartment. The valve compartments are in communication with a plunger chamber including an axially movable plunger. A spring-biased control knob is assembled to the plunger and to the control valve for controlling its position between either a direct-flow orientation or a by-pass orientation. With the control valve in the by-pass orientation, upward movement of the control knob draws fluid into the inlet valve compartment and into the plunger chamber. The down stroke of the control knob pushes the fluid out of the plunger chamber.

  • Patent number: 7300189
Abstract: An interchangeable flashlight-cargo lamp system includes a docking station that is suitable for mounting either a cargo lamp or a rechargeable flashlight. The flashlight doubles as a cargo lamp when mounted within the docking station. Both the cargo lamp and the flashlight have common mounting elements that mate with corresponding mounting features of the docking station to permit either device to be inserted into and removed from the docking station. The interchangeable devices also include electrical contacts that mate with corresponding electrical contacts in the docking station. The flashlight further includes a battery that is recharged when the flashlight is mounted in the docking station.
