  • Patent number: 9301492
Abstract: A method of making a clumping cellulosic animal litter with enhanced clumping rate and improved flushability when spent using cellulosic granules to about 1%-5% by weight of an inner coating of a polyacrylate is first applied and then to which about 1%-4% by weight based on the weight of the granules of an outer coating of guar gum and/or guar gum substitute is applied.

  • Publication number: 20110315088
Abstract: A large animal bedding system in which a large animal stall having a floor is provided with a bedding layer of cellulosic granules distributed across the floor of the stall. The system may include a shovel having a blade and a screen in the blade where the screen has a plurality of holes to assist in removing animal waste and agglomerated granules from the bedding layer.

  • Patent number: 5730371
Abstract: A device and a process for delumping pasty masses in waste materials from paper manufacture. The delumping means employs at least one rotating cylindrical drum having a plurality of flexible fingers mounted on the drum. Pasty masses are supplied to the delumper preferably by a chute mounted to the top of the delumper, and are struck by the flexible fingers of the rotating drum. Annular recesses are formed at the base of the flexible fingers which mates with a plurality of bores in the drum housings. Preferably, the fingers are rubber.

  • Patent number: 5019564
Abstract: An agricultural granule capable of carrying and releasing incorporated biocidal or nutritional agricultural chemicals. The granule is formed by the agitative agglomeration of a plant fiber slurry and resembles a clay granule in all respects except for its chemical inertness.

  • Patent number: 4734393
Abstract: An oil and grease absorbent material formed from treated paper sludge or other fibrous slurries and a method of treating the slurry to form the material which includes the physical properties of clay absorbents. The method involves the addition of materials to the shredded slurry to control color, bacteria, fungi, and density. A quantity of lipophyllic ray cells are added to the slurry to increase oil absorbency. The slurry is then formed into granules and dried before packaging.

  • Patent number: 4721059
Abstract: A clay-like filler material formed from treated paper sludge or other fibrous slurries and a method of treating the sludge to form the filler which includes the physical properties of clay fillers. The method involves adding materials to the shredded slurry to control color, bacteria, fungi, absorbency, pests, and fragrance. The slurry is then formed into granules and dried prior to being packaged.
