    Abstract: The present invention relates to liquid detergent compositions comprising substantially linear, water soluble, highly salt-tolerant non-adsorbing, ionic polymers of MW 10,000 to 1,000,000 Daltons which, when added in defined minimum levels to structured heavy duty liquids, make the liquids highly shear thinning without decreasing pour viscosity of the composition or increasing it to a point where it is too thick. The compositions are also stable.
