  • Patent number: 8468451
Abstract: Tools and techniques for online customer service via website navigation intervention are described herein. Methods provided by these tools may include monitoring activities of a user who is interacting with a website while utilizing a user device. These activities may indicate that the user would benefit from assistance while interacting with the website, and the tools may accordingly formulate data representing an offer of assistance to the user. In some instances, the user device may send a request for assistance to a customer service system, and may surrender control of the user device to the customer service system. The user device may receive assistance from the customer service system, and afterwards, regain control of the device when the assistance is completed.

  • Patent number: 7991135
Abstract: A plain old telephone service (POTS) communications service incentive is offered for maintaining the voice path connection after disconnection of POTS, at a residence or business location. The communications service incentive includes providing an always-on dialtone service from a wireline service provider to a customer premises. After receiving an order to disconnect phone service at the premises, it is determined by a central office computer processor of a wireline service provider whether the premises, which is subject to the order to disconnect phone service, meets a set of requirements for the always-on dialtone service.

  • Patent number: 7742945
Abstract: Temporary increased broadband bandwidth services for high speed access and download of Internet websites are provided to end user DSL subscribers by a system and method to increase speed of accessing certain Internet websites to incentivize the end user DSL subscribers to purchase higher speed broadband services and to incentivize content providers to pay for the temporary increased broadband services. The speed category of a customer premises equipment turbo modem is controlled by either a wired or wireless serving center computer processor, based on either the wired or wireless serving center computer processor determining whether to download Internet and video content at a predetermined selected speed category.

  • Publication number: 20070274480
Abstract: A method and system for prepaying credits to a user account for communications services is provided. A system receives an origination number and a code. The code corresponds to a predefined payment amount for prepaid credit. The system credits an account associated with the origination number with the predefined payment amount for prepaid credit. Software for implementing the method and system may be implemented in a number of environments, including a computer system accessible remotely or a processor located on a user communication device.

  • Publication number: 20070274482
Abstract: Telephone calls made from a first account, such as a wireless or wireline account, are completed by bridging the call into a second telephone account, such as a different wireless or wireline account, from which the destination is ultimately reached. Benefits associated with the second telephone account from which the call is completed are applicable even though the call originated from the first account. When bridging into the second account, an identification is provided to a bridging platform. The identification may include a number automatically submitted in response to placing the call into the platform such as a mobile identification number of a wireless device or an automatic number identification, and/or the identification may include a personal identification code manually submitted by the calling party.

  • Patent number: 7295659
Abstract: A method and system for prepaying credits to a user account for communications services provided. If a system detects a predefined condition associated with a communications connection, the system deducts the cost of the communications connection from the credit in the user account. The predefined condition includes the origination of the communications connection from one of a plurality of predefined sources. Software for implementing the method may be implemented in a number of environments, including a computer system accessible remotely or a processor located on the user's telephone.
