The operator includes linkage for being attached to the door; a motor assembly having a drive shaft; and a drive train for coupling the drive shaft of the motor assembly to the linkage structure, the drive train includes a clutch for selectively disconnecting the linkage from the drive shaft of the motor assembly and a variable torque control assembly for varying the torque produced by the clutch.
