  • Publication number: 20120080038
Abstract: Procedure radiograph orientation devices and methods of use are provided for stabilization and orientation of a patient's anatomy for a variety of surgical interventions. Additionally, devices of the present invention aid in orienting radiographic imaging devices through the inclusion of radiopaque fiducials so as to optimize radiographic images by providing radiographic reference landmarks. An example of the present invention includes a rostral base plate, a plurality of support slats, and a caudal base plate, these components being adapted to pivot about one another or in certain embodiments, adapted to pivot about a series of spacers. One or more tension wires extend through the slats and base plates, joining the elements. The devices may be secured in various configurations by increasing the tension of the tension cable(s). Visual sighting or aiming devices may also be included in certain embodiments. Certain embodiments may include a rigid base plate having radiopaque fiducials.

  • Patent number: 6684722
Abstract: Apparatus, methods, and systems are disclosed for removing stress on gyroscopes during acrobatic flight and for causing gyroscopes to fail in a controlled manner during testing and training. A valve for protecting a pneumatic-gyroscopic aircraft instrument comprises a body and a seat having a selective interrupter and an arm. The selective interrupter is positioned inside the body and can rotate inside the body. A method for protecting a pneumatic-gyroscopic aircraft instrument comprises allowing a pneumatic flow to the instrument during flight, and then, redirecting, selectively, without interrupting the pneumatic flow to the instrument. A system for protecting a pneumatic-gyroscopic aircraft instrument comprises a means for allowing a pneumatic flow to the instrument during flight, and a means for selectively redirecting, without interrupting, the pneumatic flow to the instrument without undue stress on the driver source.

  • Publication number: 20020017770
Abstract: The present invention discloses a receptacle mounted at a predetermined location for storing various tow hitch apparatuses and assemblies. Behind the mounting surface, the area may be hollow such as a standard dwelling wall or solid such as a brick or concrete wall found in a basement. Furthermore, the invention may be mounted on a floor or wall of a vehicle storage compartment. The dimensions of the invention are such that it can in one embodiment receive the standard two inch male connector and in other embodiments receive other standard male portions of a tow hitch apparatus. In particular, the invention is designed to receive the various racks that have become popular for carrying sports equipment. These rigid racks attach to the standard trailer hitch receptacle found on many vehicles.
