Abstract: An apparatus converts written marks on a writing surface into a digital form. According to one embodiment, the apparatus includes a writing portion configured to create a physical mark on a surface and a recording portion configured to capture the physical mark. The apparatus further includes a processor configured to process the physical mark and generate a digital mark from the physical mark, a memory for storing the digital mark, and a transmitter to transmit a digital image of the captured mark to an external device.

Abstract: An apparatus for a tablet computer is disclosed. According to one embodiment, the apparatus includes a back support, a brace, a base portion, and a hand rest. The brace shares a first flexible strip with the back support, the base portion shares a second flexible strip with the brace, and the hand rest shares a third flexible strip with the base portion. The back support is rotatable along the first flexible strip relative to the brace, the brace is rotatable along the second flexible strip relative to the base portion, and the hand rest is rotatable along the third flexible strip relative to the base portion. The base portion includes a keyboard, a battery, and internal circuitry suitable for interfacing with the tablet computer. The hand rest includes a touch pad. The apparatus is configurable in a desktop configuration, a tablet configuration, and a portability configuration.

Abstract: A system and method for device configuration and activation with automated privacy law compliance is disclosed. According to one embodiment, a selection for a configuration path for a device is received during device initialization. The configuration path is either a simple path or a full path. In response to the selection for the simple path, a restricted device configuration is applied to allow restricted access to device applications and resources of the device. In response to the user selection for the full path, a privacy policy requirement is determined that is applicable to the device based on location information of the device.

Abstract: A system and method for displaying a virtual experience based on a presence of a physical object is disclosed. According to one embodiment, the system includes a screen, a target, and a reader. The reader detects a presence of the target within a predetermined proximity and communicates with the screen to display a virtual environment based on the presence of the target.

Abstract: A system for wirelessly monitoring a remote location is disclosed. According to one embodiment, the system includes a camera, a base, and an external device. The camera includes a lens, one or more infrared (IR) sources, a status indicator, a microphone, a wireless network interface controller that connects to a Wi-Fi enabled device, and a hardware module that receives IR light when insufficient visible light is present for normal video recording and photographing. The base has a footing and a cradle that are coupled by hinges. The footing supports the camera and the base on a flat support surface. The hinges facilitate rotating the camera to position the camera at various angles. The external device wirelessly controls operation and settings of the camera to remotely view, photograph, and record videos, and to wirelessly transfer video recording data files from the camera to the external device.

The apparatus further includes one or more protruding members that extend distally from the first circular surface of the cylindrical body, wherein each of the one or more protruding members is configured to be fixedly seated into a corresponding hole within the cavity.
