  • Patent number: 11138861
Abstract: A virtual care system. The system identifies movement and status (e.g., location, time duration in a location, direction of movement, last activity) of an inhabitant of a premises, and takes actions based on the identified movement and status. The system includes an activity plan comprising a plurality of activity primitives. Each activity primitive comprises a time window, and classifies movements and/or activities of the inhabitant as, for example, expected or unexpected or abnormal patterns of behavior, based on occurrence and/or absence of output from a single sensor or paired sensors at the premises in the time window. The system is configured to notify caregivers with different levels of urgency (e.g., informational or warning to critical) based on the classifications of the detected movements and/or activities, and/or to take other actions such as turning off the lights and locking the door.

  • Patent number: 8019638
Abstract: A system and method are provided that enable dynamic construction of analytics for the evaluation of opportunities. A unique decision-focused approach simplifies the evaluation of opportunities and incorporates expertise and future-relevant judgments directly into the decision process, thereby tracking the effectiveness of those decisions with respect to selected metrics.

  • Patent number: 6690321
Abstract: A system is provided for detecting the presence of two or more acoustic sources or targets such as vehicles that are traveling between an array of unattended passive ground sensors, in which the sensors each include a phased-array microphone and processing to determine the bearing to the acoustic target. The bearings from pairs of these sensors are subtracted one from the other to provide a bearing line difference “delta” which is the indicator of the presence of an acoustic target close to the line between the two sensors of the pair. A tripwire threshold indicating the presence of a target is set when the absolute value of this bearing line difference “delta” is greater than, for instance, 150°, with the “delta” being 180° when the target is on the line between the two sensors.

  • Patent number: 6243092
Abstract: A system, method, and article of manufacture for editing visual primitives of a transaction flow used by a transaction processing system. A visual representation of a transaction flow containing visual primitives is accessed from a storage device by a digital computer. The visual primitives are then displayed on the visual display. The system then edits the visual primitives in a manner that provides for unrestricted placement of the visual primitives. A visual indicator is displayed if the transaction flow is incomplete. Alphanumeric text can be added to a visual primitive or placed elsewhere within the transaction flow. A connection is automatically established between a pair of visual primitives if the visual primitives overlap one another. Transaction flow templates can be selected and modified by the visual editing system.

  • Patent number: 6225998
Abstract: A system, method, and article of manufacture for displaying visual primitives of a transaction flow through a transaction processing system. A visual representation of a transaction flow containing visual primitives is accessed from a storage device by a digital computer. The digital computer is then used to display the visual primitives of the transaction flow an a visual display in a flexible manner. The visual primitives can be dynamically sized and may display properties of each visual primitive. Configuration information associated with the transaction flow is also shown on the visual display.
