    Abstract: A device for retracting a motor vehicle hood ornament comprises a carrier for conveying the ornament between a first position in which the ornament is retracted below the hood of a motor vehicle and a second positon in which the ornament is displayed atop the hood, a drive mechanism for driving the carrier, and a control mechanism for causing the drive mechanism to drive the carrier to propel the ornament to the first position upon receipt of a first signal and to drive the carrier to propel the ornament to the second position upon receipt of a second signal.
