Publication number: 20210313603Abstract: A safety control system for a fuel-consuming apparatus includes a switching assembly. The switching assembly includes a first end electrically connected to a power source node, a second end electrically connected to an input power node of a fuel safety shutoff valve of the fuel-consuming apparatus, and one or more switch units serially connected between the first and second ends. Each of the switch units is configured to be switched on or off based on a corresponding one of one or more environmental conditions of the fuel-consuming apparatus. An electrical connection path between the first and second ends is deactivated upon at least one of the one or more switch units being switched off to stop supplying of fuel into the fuel-consuming apparatus.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 23, 2019Publication date: October 7, 2021Inventors: Paul DEWALD, Robert GROGAN

Patent number: 6675548Abstract: A gantry is constrained to move around the walls of a cylindrical, concrete tank. A rotating, high pressure water spray nozzle is mounted to a moveable platform on the gantry and connected to a source of water at a pressure of over 20,000 psi. The distance between the nozzle and an opposing surface of the wall of the tank is selected so the nozzle can remove the surface of the concrete and produce a selected surface roughness. The platform is moved vertically, with the gantry moving around the tank, so the surface of the concrete is systematically removed and roughened. A shotcrete or gunnite sprayer is then mounted to the platform, and the roughened surface sprayed with shotcrete or gunnite which sticks to the roughened surface. A tensioning head is then mounted to the platform, and wires or cables are tensioned as they are wrapped around the walls.Type: GrantFiled: January 11, 2001Date of Patent: January 13, 2004Assignee: DYK IncorporatedInventors: Gordon B. Bristol, Robert A. Grogan, Timothy M. Mathews, Stephen T. Rader, James L. Rogers

Patent number: 6648342Abstract: A chuck includes a generally cylindrical body having a nose section and a tail section. A plurality of jaws are movably disposed with respect to the body to and away from the chuck's axial bore. A generally cylindrical sleeve is in driving communication with the jaws. The sleeve engages the body or the jaws by a first set of interengaged threads so that relative rotation between the first threads drives the jaws toward or away from the chuck axis. The sleeve engages the body or the jaws by a second set of interengaged threads so that relative rotation between the second threads drives the jaws toward or away from the chuck axis. The first thread set defines a first pitch so that when the jaws close, the first threads rotationally lock in the closing direction. The second thread set defines a second pitch that is higher than the first pitch so that when the jaws close, the second threads are relatively rotatable in the closing direction.Type: GrantFiled: February 11, 2003Date of Patent: November 18, 2003Assignee: Power Tool Holders IncorporatedInventors: William H. Aultman, Robert A. Grogan

Publication number: 20020163140Abstract: A chuck for use with a power driver includes a generally cylindrical body, a plurality of jaws and a driving disk axially moveably disposed about the body in driving engagement with the jaws so that axial movement of the driving disk with respect to the body moves the jaws toward or away from the chuck body axis. The driving disk defines a threaded outer circumferential surface that engages a threaded inner circumferential surface of a generally cylindrical sleeve so that relative rotation between the sleeve and driving disk axially moves the driving disk with respect to the body. The driving disk defines a plurality of cylindrical slots extending at least partially radially therethrough. Each jaw includes a portion thereof that is shaped cooperatively with respect to the cylindrical slot and that is received thereby so that the jaw is axially fixed, and radially slidable with respect to the driving disk.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 29, 2002Publication date: November 7, 2002Inventors: Robert A. Patent number: 6402160Abstract: A chuck includes a generally cylindrical body, a plurality of jaws and a driving disk. A bearing includes a first race, a second race and a plurality of bearing elements disposed between the first race and the second race. The first race defines a plurality of recesses therein. One of the second race and the bearing elements is disposed in communication with the first race so that, when the jaws close onto a tool and the first race and the second race rotate relative to each other, the one of the second race and the bearing elements engages successive recesses.Type: GrantFiled: February 18, 2000Date of Patent: June 11, 2002Assignee: Power Tool Holders IncorporatedInventors: Robert A. Patent number: 6050741Abstract: A clamping device for holding a rotating tool or stationary object to a threaded shaft of a power tool or machine includes a body member having an annular ring configured therewith. The annular ring has at least two concentric ramped bearing surfaces defined on an inner axial face thereof. An operating ring is rotationally mounted on the body member and has an axial face with concentric ramped bearing surfaces defined thereon oppositely facing the bearing surfaces on the annular ring. The operating ring has a second axial face with at least one unramped bearing surface defined thereon. A flange member has an inner axial face opposite the operating ring second axial face. The flange member is axially movable relative to the body member and presses against and clampingly holds a rotating tool relative to a drive shaft upon manual rotation of the operating ring in a tightening direction. A bearing device is disposed between the ramped bearing surfaces of the annular ring and the operating ring.Type: GrantFiled: January 30, 1998Date of Patent: April 18, 2000Assignee: Power Tool Holders IncorporatedInventors: William H. Aultman, Robert A. Grogan

Patent number: 5820136Abstract: A quick release chuck device includes a body member having a frustoconical chamber defined therein with a collet device operably housed in the chamber. At least two longitudinally extending members are disposed equally spaced around the circumference of the body member and are pivotally mounted relative to the body member at pivot points near a front or first end of the longitudinal members. The longitudinal members have a second end opposite the first end wherein the second ends are moveable radially outward from the body member as the body member is rotated in an operational mode of the device. The first ends of the longitudinal members engage the collet device and force the collet device longitudinally into the frustoconical chamber when the second ends are moved radially outward by centrifugal force as the body member is rotated.Type: GrantFiled: October 24, 1996Date of Patent: October 13, 1998Assignee: Power Tool Holders IncorporatedInventors: Erik G. Han, Edward H. Martin, Kenneth M. Montjoy, William M. Aultman, Robert A. Grogan
